The Dualhorn

As everyone got closer towards the area Dave last spotted the creature, you couldn't help but think back on your life

You: what would have happened if i didn't make that wish? would I still be at home, in my room, playing video games?

Prompto's voice suddenly brings you back to the here and now, shaking your head and shaking away the thoughts.

Prompto: Over there! That's it, right?

Gladio: huh, that's a dualhorn?

Ignis: Yes, but not your run-of-the-mill breed. We'd best make quick work of it

Noct: hey (y/n) any info on this one?

You: If I remember correctly it's not a dualhorn, but a bloodhorn a more daemonic version of the dualhorn. What it lacks in strength it makes up in agility and is extremely aggressive, it's best to proceed with caution and dispatched with precision.

The rest (minus Ignis) looked stunned at the knowledge that just came from you, seeing their face you raise an eyebrow as if to say 'What?'

Prompto: I knew you were smart, but not this smart

You: Well Ignis showed me to the library and I found a bestiary, I got curious so I read it cover to cover. Let's get this thing!

3rd Person Pov

as we approach the beast Gladio pipes up

Gladio: Hey, Wait a sec!

Prompto: What?- scared, big guy?

Gladio: you oughta be, too. Things vicious.

Prompto: You sure? Looks tame to me.

Ignis and You: Look out!

The beast charges at the group with Gladio being up front swings his great-sword slicing at it's face, stunned it slumps on it's side for a few seconds before slowly getting back up, while Prompto and Noctis are cheering  you notice it coming round, running in front of Prompto you shout

You: It's not over yet!

Prompto and Noct back up, while you don't move. Summoning their weapons the beast tries to ram you but with quick reflexes you move to the side and slice up it's leg with you (w/o/c), everyone is hacking away at the beast, when you just had an idea, running to where Prompto is you shout out

You: guys i have an idea!  But you need to move away!

Getting a fire spell ready, the three near it jump back just in time as you hurl the spell at the bloodhorn causing it to roar in pain as it burns

You: Prompto use your Piercer move!

Prompto lines up the shot, says his famous 'oh hi there opening' and the bloodhaon falls down in a vulnerable state. Noct warps towards the beast's face and slices at it, when a loud crack is heard you knew that the horns have been broken off, the sudden thought just came into your head

You: I forgot how strong Noctis is, He managed to do that with his engine blade!!!

Shaking off the thought you all make a move together and it finally falls to the ground, dead. Panting slightly you go over to the horns to inspect it, the others follow you like lost puppies

You: That's a nice cut, not too much damage to the rest of it, nice one Noct

Noct in a smug tone: Yeah I know

Ignis: That was an excellent plan earlier (y/n), well done

Prompto: yeah, how did you know to use fire against it?

You: Most things around here don't like fire

As you said that Noct's phone goes off

Noct: hello?

Cindy: Hey! Dave just called an' said he's safe. Thanks for findin' him.

Noct: 'Kay.

Cindy: Nice work, y'all. By the way, the old girl's looking good as new. She'll be waiting at the garage.

Noct: Gotcha

We made our way back to Hammerhead conversing about what's to come and all that, you and Ignis talk about the bestiary, Noct looks like he wants to sleep right then and there while Prompto and Gladio look through the Photos Prompto took during the journey so far

As we walk towards the new and improved regalia Cindy pops out from the garage

Cindy: Sorry 'bout the wait. Ain't she purdy?

Gladio: she's almost too pretty for the road

Prompto: She's back! We should all get a picture with her!

He grabs his camera and hands it to Cindy, showing her what button to press, Everyone poses with the regalia Noct on the floor at the front with Prompto on the other side arms spread out wide with a huge smile (ball of sunshine!!!) Gladio is a little further back leaning against the hood with a pleasant smile, Ignis on the other side arms folded with a small smile while you, like Prompto, stand in the back with your arms in the air and a wide grin on your face. With everyone in place Cindy snaps the shot

Cindy: All the more reason to ride with care. Oh, and before I forget- Would y'all mind makin' a little delivery for me?

Noct: No, Not at all

Cindy: Perfect! Thought you'd say yes, so I already put it in the trunk. There should be a motel on the way to Galdin. If y'all wouldn't mind giving that to the owner, that'd be swell.

Noct: Grandpa, like Grandkid

Ignis: Now that she's all polished up and ready for the road, would you care to take her for a test drive, Noct?

Noct: I think I'll leave it in your capable hands

Ignis: very well then

with that we all pile in the new regalia with Ignis driving, Prompto in the front passenger seat, you, Noct and Gladio are in the back, It's a bit of a squeeze with Gladio and Noct either side but you definitely don't mind. With the calming atmosphere and the buzzing of the engine you start to slowing fall asleep, barely hearing the conversation as you slip deeper and deeper into sleep.

Noctis POV (surprise!!)

As I was talking to Prompto about lending the regalia to impress Cindy I felt something fall on my shoulder, turning my head a little I see (y/n) asleep on my shoulder

Noct: they look cute when they're asleep, wait what?!

3rd POV

Noct turned his head away at the thought so no-one could see his face blush a bit, Ignis saw this first but didn't comment, Gladio and Prompto on the other hand began teasing him

Prompto: aww look, they're soo cute

Gladio: you two make a good couple, shame you're getting married

This went on until they reached Longwythe rest area, when the car stopped everyone except you two got out, when you woke up to find you slept on Noctis' shoulder, quickly sitting up

You: I'm sorry Noct, I didn't mean to do that

Noct: It's alright (y/n), you must've been pretty tired, usually you don't sleep during the day

You: well, I didn't have a good night sleep last night, Nightmares, ya know?

Noct: I didn't know you had nightmares

You: Yeah, it happens rarely so it comes as a surprise but they happen

Noct: it's fine, I have them sometimes too, come on let's go

Noctis approaches the man behind the motel desk

Proprietor: Y'all came all the way out here to deliver the goods? Well, thank ya kindly. We'll take it outta the trunk, so y'all just sit tight.
