Phil's POV

My feet tumbled across the pot holed parking lot, I felt my back pockets for the little change I had from work.

My hand connected with the large glass door, a satisfying 'ding' rang above my head. Causing me to grin.

I inspected the old diner, with its small chipped paint booths and tiled floor.

A dark hair lady appeared behind the long bar, colorful stools lined up against it.
She smiled at me.

"Hey Charlotte" I said cheerfully as I sat myself on one of the stools.
She stared into my eyes before giggling.

"Hey Phil"

"Uh I would like-" I started but she cut me off.
"The chicken burger and homemade fries?" She asked with the quirk of an eyebrow.

I chuckled and nodded.

"Oh and a-"
"Cream soda" She cut me off again.

I shot her a sassy look as she disappeared into the kitchen.

As soon as she was out of sight I ran my hand through my hair, making sure it looked good.

To be honest, I really like Charlotte, she just seen us as friends.

I let out a sigh before letting my eyes trail to the small tv above my head, showing a news broadcast.

Not much interesting was going on.

Suddenly a delightful smell filled my nose, Charlotte appeared again but this time with a large plate piled with food.

She sat the plate infront of me, making my mouth water.

"Oh right" I mumbled pulling out a ten dollar bill.
"It's on the house" She smiled and passed me a glass of cream soda.

I cheekily grinned and dived into my food.

Once I was down I let out a satisfied sigh.

"That was amazi-" I started but was cut off by a 'ding'

Who was that? Nobody ever comes here?

With a confused face u slowly turned my head. A tall boy stepped into the diner, his clothes completely black.

His dark brown eyes met mine for a second before he slowly walked up to a stool, a little ways from mine.

Charlotte stepped out from the kitchen with a rag in her hand.
"Phil, who was that?" She asked but looked up at the boy. She slowly walked up to him.

"Hello" She smiled at him, he barley looked at her.
"May I help you?"
He stared at his hands.

"May I just have a glass of water?" He mumbled under his breath, she nodded and soon returned with a tall glass of water.

He quietly sipped it, his eyes darting to the news broadcast above my head.

His eye met mine for a second.

"Im Phil" The words escaped my lips, causing an awkward silence.

"I'm Dan" His voice shocked me, it was much louder and deeper than a moment ago.

"What brings you here?" I asked and found myself starting a conversation with 'Dan'
"Oh, you know, family drama" He shrugged it of like it was nothing, but I could tell by his voice it was serious.

A silence fell apon us.

He seemed mysterious.

Whoever he was, I wanted to know him better.
