When I opened my eyes under this pitch-black water, I already knew the whole earth was destroyed—what I didn't know was that I discovered a completely different world under the ocean, miles below the earth.

A soft beeping told me I was running out of air, something hooked around my waist. It had gotten a good grip on me. I screamed in pain, wasting my oxygen. I tugged at the muscular tentacle but it didn't budge.

A glimpse of the creature flashed in the corner of my vision as it pulled me down, it was a large purple mass of tentacles with one blue eye staring straight at me with a determination I had never seen.

My vision flashed in and out, gasping for air, the creature kept pulling me further down.

We were falling, the dropping feeling in my stomach confirming.

What laid before my eyes was another world. I caught glimpses of trees at the bottom of the chasm, the walls were lined with glowing crystals, the roof was a clear crystal keeping the water out and the creatures; they were beautiful, every creature a different colour.

I began screaming, we were heading for the ground at a speed I wouldn't survive. The floor speed towards me, the last of my saved breath left my lungs.

The world vanished into a black void as my oxygen ran out.

Fresh clean air filled my lungs. My eyes fluttered open to see another human face staring down at me, we were still in the cave; the large trees loomed over us.

"Welcome" the man over me said, "it's just us and the creatures" he helped me to my feet. I took my first steps since the war and breathed in the fresh air.

A new life.

Another chance.
