Chapter 7

Kaylee's POV

Jessica and I sat down in Mr Johnston's class and chatted until the bell rang. He started the lesson and we copied down notes. He gave us the homework assignment and gave us the last 20 mins of class to do it.

"Did Camria seem a little on the edge this morning to you?" Jessica asked me.

"Yeah.. like she knew something that we didn't."

She nodded and continued her work. I thought more about what she had said about Camria. I thought about it until the bell rang. Shoot, I still had 5 problems left. I'll finish them during study hall.

I grabbed my things then headed to my locker to grab my history book. I looked down to check my phone and I bumped into somebody.

"I'm so sorry!" I heard a masculine voice say. I looked up and saw Shawn, one of Hayes's friends and yes it's the Shawn Mendes the viner.

I bent down to pick up my books that were now scattered in the hallway. I looked for my notebook and saw that Shawn was handing it to me.

"Thanks." I said awkwardly due to Hayes and I's situation.

"No problem, hey your Hayes's girlfriend right?"

"Um, not at the moment really."

"Oh, I'm sorry."

"It's okay, sorry but I better get to class before I'm late."

"Oh yeah me too. See ya around, Kaylee?"

I nodded and he smiled then walked to class, I ran to my locker and quickly grabbed my history book then ran to class. I walked into the class just as the bell rang and cranky old Mrs Bryant saw me.

"Miss Davis, your late. Go get a tardy slip from the office." she said.

All eyes were on me, including Hayes. My face grew red as I walked back out of the classroom to go to the office.

As I was walking down the hallway I checked to make sure there was no teachers and pulled out my phone. I went on Twitter and tweeted,

Of course as soon as I tweeted that I bumped into somebody again. My phone and books went flying.

"Hey! Watch where your going you dipshit."

"I'm sorry." I heard a quiet voice say, it was Shawn.

"Oh my gosh I'm sorry Shawn, I didn't know that was you." I said apologetically.

"Haha, it's okay, wow we've ran into each other a lot." he laughed.

"Yeah." I laughed as I picked up my books. I inspected my phone and saw that it had a little crack in the top corner.

I silently cursed to myself and put it in my pocket. Shawn handed me my books and I told him that I had to go to the office and that I would see him later.

"Wait! Let me get your number!" he yelled down the hall.

"Okay." I said as I handed him my phone he put it in and took a selfie for his contact picture. I laughed at the face he made.

"There ya go, okay hopefully we don't see each other again because I'm sick of you." he said in a serious tone with a smile.

I mocked being hurt, laughed then continued my journey to the office.

I walked into the office and explained my reasoning for being there.

"Oh dear, don't worry about it. She's always like that, we won't give you one this time, your a wonderful student." Miss Dee said to me.

"Thank you so much Miss Dee, have a wonderful day."

"Thank you dear."

I walked into Mrs Bryant's class and sat down.

"Where's your slip?" she snarled at me.

"They told me I didn't need one." I said smugly.

She scoffed at me and continued her lesson.

Makenna leaned over to me,

"Nice going." she gave me a thumbs up and I laughed quietly.

"Btw, Hayes is staring at you."

I looked over and she wasn't lying, as soon as I made eye contact with him we both looked away. Makenna wiggled her eyebrows at me then turned around. I rolled my eyes then copied down the notes from the board.

*2 hours later*

We all walked into lunch and sat down at our usual table. Kylie was talking about her cheer competition, Makenna and Jessica about volleyball and I just sat there thinking about my morning.

"Kaylee, are you okay?" Kylie asked softly.

"What? Oh yeah I'm just thinking."

"Hayes was eye humping her like the whole second period." Makenna said with a straight face.

Everyone started cracking up. We continued to eat and I kept getting the feeling of being stared at.

I looked behind me and saw Hayes looking at me through the window of his friends. He saw me and turned away quickly.

"I'm going to go grab something from the vending machine, do you guys want anything?"

"Some M&M's please!" Jessica yelled as she threw me her dollar.

I nodded and walked over to the machine and put the money in and it quickly returned the money. I groaned and redid it again. I cursed and got a tap on my shoulder.

"Can I help?"

I turned around and it was him.

"Um, sure.." I said quietly.

He took the money from my hands and rolled it on the machine then entered it. I entered the numbers and grabbed the candy.

"Thanks." I said quietly.

"No problem."

I began to walk away when Hayes grabbed my arm.

"Kaylee, can we talk?"
