Garland.
It is with all my heart that I thank you for being the glue that holds our stupid, squabbling gang together. You’ve always been the most loving person here and it was you and Matilda that made such an amazing sendoff for me possible.
I have a few things I want to say to you;
Never let go of what you believe in. All my life I have admired your adamant dedication to your chosen way of life and your values. Stay true.
If you love something –or someone – don’t deny yourself of it. Unless it’s killing or hurting things. That’s bad. But in the words of Chris Simpsons Artist: if you feel sick just be sick. If you love someone just tell them.
Life isn’t a John Green novel. There are ups and downs and sometimes no resolution to our life problems, but isn’t that what makes everything matter? Maybe there isn’t a grand design and maybe true love doesn’t exist (but if you and Seth get married then I firmly reserve the right to say I called it and that it does).
Keep on loving the world and loving life because that is all that matters
(Also, keep looking after the crew. God knows they need it)
Peace out
Jack
