I wake up
In a place, I am not familiar with
It looked like a school, a school that was full of life. Or was it death? It was hard to tell.
I walked past the kids in the hallway, still not knowing why I'm really here.
This school was nothing but emptiness and emotional well-being. And they couldn't change a thing, because they didn't know what to change. The naked eye could not see what I can see. Spirits, ghosts, ghouls, call them whatever, but they are here. Hiding yet still staying to see what mankind has turned into.
This is my problem, people say that I am the "Mentally ill girl". The girl that can see crap from all over the place. The girl who wanted something so badly but never got because that's how life is and she had to suck it up.
I was left alone at a young age, just like others. Same old story, same old details. I thought I died, and now I am here. People can see me, and I am alive. But how? That I don't know.
People came up to me, a girl and a boy.
"Hey! Are you new here? " A girl with long white hair asked. She was pretty, even though she had fat ankles. The boy next to her had blond hair, he was cute and seemed younger than the girl.
"Yeah, are you a new girl? What year are you in? " They both had very determined faces, were they trying to befriend me?
I still didn't answer, I didn't know what to say. Was I supposed to talk? I didn't know if I could. I opened my mouth and tried to talk but instead, nothing came out. Only air, leaving me defeated.
I looked down at the ground with a shameful look on my face. They frowned, seemed like they felt bad. The girl held my hands in hers, "Wanna be friends, it's okay if you can't speak, we won't judge." She gave me a kind smile as well as the blonde. I haven't seen a decent smile in such a long time.
I nod my head, not noticing I did. I didn't want to, I didn't want to get them involved in my troublesome life. I didn't even know if I had a life. But I couldn't do anything, she was already dragging me somewhere.
I tap her on the shoulder, she looks back at me, as well as the boy. "Something the matter?" Blonde asks. I nod, reaching for the girl's bag. She looks at me weird, but I do it anyway. I reach for a notebook and start writing something down.
Hello, my name is Y / n L / n. What's yours?
PS
I can hear you guys so feel free to speak.
They looked at me and smiled, happy they have a way to communicate.
"My name is Yashiro Nene, and this is Kou Minamoto." The girl says.
"I'm still in middle school, a third-year, and she is in high school, a first-year." The boy continued.
I share a crooked grin, I haven't done that for so long.
"Well, we are going to class, what year are you in?" Yashiro asks. I write down, 'first' and she smirks. I don't know how I remember that, it just came to mind all of the sudden. I didn't even know my name until they asked. Is it all suddenly coming back? But from where, and when?
"You can come to class with me! Kou-Kun, we gotta go! " Kou saddened and walked away, he had a look of distaste. "Why is it that you get all the cute ones and I'm stuck with the weird guys I call friends?" I blush and snicker at his comment.
"Ignore him, he can be picky at times, but he is very kind if you haven't already noticed." She drags me off to a room that sort of brings back memories. Wait, was I remembering even more?
