Bee-dee-dee-deep! Bee-dee-dee-deep!
The sound of his alarm going off is one of the few things in life that Kim Win despises. He's grateful that it doesn't start at six in the morning like it used to when he was in high school, but he still hates to the point where he swears, he hears it in his nightmares. Whining tiredly and smacking his hand on the off button, he rolls himself onto his back and stares up at the white ceiling. His head turns to the side in order to look at the time, seeing 11:00 a.m. flashing at him in bright, red numbers. Air pushes past his lips as they purse and point back up at the ceiling. That's five less minutes than yesterday's time.
As far back as he can recollect the moment that he got his first alarm clock, Win's had this habit of setting it five minutes earlier than the previous day. It's like he expects something to happen where he would need to get up earlier than his body wants him to. That's proven to be not the case in all the years he's been doing, though, but Win still does it just to be safe.
After he quite literally rolls out of bed, Win walks over to his mirror and stands in front of it. He debates whether or not it would be a wise choice to get a shower. For most people, that's an obvious yes, but Win thinks otherwise. Being the laid-back guy that he is, he thinks that as long as he showers at least three times a week, he'll be well off.
"I already did it yesterday and the day before," he mumbles to himself, staring at his tired reflection in the mirror. He lets his arms fall to his sides and shrugs as he says, "Nah. It can wait." So, with his decision made, he strolls over to his closet and the paneled doors back, whistling a random tune as he tries to figure out what to wear.
He settles with a grey t-shirt and his favorite pair of ripped jeans, which he realizes is the exact same outfit he wore the other day. He just shrugs though and takes them out of the closet, tossing them on his bed so that he can close the door. He pulls his shirt over his and begins the process of undressing as he walks back over to his bed to continue it. He tugs on the hems of his shirt to straighten it out, instantly lifting up his hands afterward to sort through his disheveled bed-head. Then, he sprays on some antiperspirant and cologne to mask his "I-didn't-shower-today" smell. Win grabs his bag off his desk chair, and is off to the café.
The Souri Café on campus is Win's go-to stop for all things that are caffeine related. Their main service are macarons and coffees of every brand and flavor, but when lunch time comes around, they also serve energy drinks and soda and sometimes if he's lucky, root beer floats. He doesn't get those too often, though, not unless his best friend, Bright, is working there because no root beer float can compare to the one's Bright makes.
On many occasions, Win have asked his P'Bright how he makes them so tasty, if he throws in a shot of vanilla extract or espresso to give it that kapow taste it has, but Bright still hasn't told Win. Bright says it's a secret that he will never tell anyone until the day he dies. Win doesn't bother Bright about it because he is his best friend after all and sometimes, you just have to trust that your best friend knows what's best for you more than you do.
"Thank you" Win says, handing the cashier money in exchange for his coffee. He takes a sip of it as he turns around and walks away, closing his eyes and feeling as his knees go weak from its rich taste. "I don't know if it's possible to have a coffee orgasm," he says, stopping and holding the cup near his face, "but I think I just did." Lifting the cup to his lips again, Win heads to the door and exits after holding it open for someone, running into his senior, Singto, on his way to class.
"Hey, Nong." Singto says, greeting the younger with a pat on the shoulder. "You heading to Ethics now?"
"Hey, P'Singto. Yeah, unfortunately." Win replies right before he takes another drink of his coffee, making Singto chuckle.
