CHAPTER XVIII

Skylar's Pov:

I'm not ready to meet him. Who thought my childhood crush was my father. I remember when Kelsey first showed me their picture. I was complimenting his looks and muscles. Poor straight me so naïve and oblivious.

"They're here" I looked at Luna with sad eyes. I wasn't scared of the new things that happened I honestly felt better when I was turned. My "parents" at home weren't there my whole life I lived with the nanny. She was more of a mother to me than anyone else. I am embarrassed to look at him. I had a fucking crush on my father for gods sake. The fucking embarrassement.

"I'll go with you" she smiled and we both went to the throne room. We found the Queen talking with Alpha James while Rita was hugging Kelsey from behind. The guards and other werewolves were engaged in conversations. I didn't even look at him I tried to smile at Lillian. She nodded her head. I could hear his heart beating fast at my sight but I couldn't dare look him in the eyes.

We all followed the Queen in a maze of corridors then down some stairs to finally reach two, elevators? We split to two groups to go down. Rita had to go with one group since she knew the way too.

The elevators stopped on the fourth floor. They opened to a whole different world. Everyone was wearing lab coats. Lillian turned to the Alpha.

"You will be put inside those big tubes. It'll suck only 5% of the venom within you. You won't even feel it. It'll take approximately 5 minutes for each member" The Alpha nodded. He ordered his pack to start stripping to their underwear as he did.

There were three tubes and Alpha James was the first to inter followed by his beta and another man. He nodded at the person in charge of the machines. She pulled a handle up and a gas started filling those tubes. Not too long after a small tank started filling up with a purple liquid. It said 15% full.

After the Alpha and the two other men finished they put their clothes on and sat on a chair next to the Queen. Alpha James looked my way and rubbed his thighs nervously he then walked towards me. I was panicking I was trapped I didn't know where to go.

"Hello there" He smiled at me giving me his hand to shake. I looked at it for a second then back at his face. His dark brown eyes held sadness. I need to get my shit together. I was 14.

"Hi" I said shyly shaking his big hands. He just stood there looking me. I was stunned when I saw a tear leave his eye.

"I'm sorry. You just look like her" he whipped his face and smiled sadly looking at his feet. He looked almost ashamed. His hand went on my tummy feeling the bump on it and I put my hand over his. His tears kept going down so I did the only thing I thought was right. I hugged him.

He was so tall so I just laid my head on his chest listening to his slow heartbeats. I felt his big arms sneak around my shoulders and his chin on the top of my head. At this moment, I can tell you I felt complete like something was missing and I finally found it. Family.

"Alpha James there are only three left." We heard his beta say. I pulled away and kissed his cheek. He smiled at me.

"Maybe you and Kelsey can join me for a picnic to catch up"

"That would be great. Dad" his heartbeats went fast for a second and his smile grew wider. We walked back next to Lillian as we watched the last three wolves get out the tubes. The tank was now a 100% full.

"That venom will be turned into gas bombs explosives and bullets" What if one of us got touched with those?

"But we need protection your Majesty. What if one of us was close when the bomb explodes?" she smiled proudly at me. She clapped her hands, now instead of the old tubes there was a mannequin wearing a suit. It was placed behind a glass wall. The suit was black elastic and tight. It looked like a diving suit but more expensive and well made. The face would also be covered except the eyes.

"That my dear will protect us it is specially made to stop anything from reaching the skin of the person wearing it"

"But if it's over the nose how do we breathe?" Luna asked.

"Luna for the heir of the throne you're fucking dumb" Rita replied. Luna just mimicked her doing a weird face.

"Bring me the suit"

After Lillian was given the suit she flipped the head inside out. There were two little buds inside it in the nose part.

"These will go inside your nose. They'll filter the air instantly. So you can breathe through it without the venom reaching your lungs" She explained

"And as you can see the eyes part isn't covered. Well that's why we have these" One of the lab workers gave Lillian black goggles. They looked like something from the future.

"These will be connected to the guns. They're like a scoop if you know what I mean. You won't have to bring the gun to you face to see your enemy. You just point the gun their way and the goggles would aim on the body part you want to shoot" By now everyone in the room had their jaws dropped to the floor. Except the ones who worked here of course.

We went back to the throne room to walk my father and the pack to the door. He hugged me and Kelsey kissing both or heads with a smile.

"See you around kids"

"See ya old man"

He then shook Lillian's hand and she smiled at him.

"We'll inform you if anything new happened" He bowed respectfully and left with his pack. This was a good day I guess. I hope the next days will be as good as today. I don't need more surprises in my life.
