"Hahaha okay, okay. My turn." I said as my friend, Makala, and I play truth or dare in her basement. "I dare you to promise me we will be friends forever. Like actually forever, and we have to make a 'friendship sign.'" I say, knowing she'll do it. We've been friends for as long as I can remember, why couldn't we be friends forever? "Okay, I promise, to Sara Ellie McKinley, that we will be friends forever!" She said as we locked hands in our friendship sign. It felt so good to know we had each other's backs.

The following week was the first day of 6th grade. Middle school, I couldn't possibly explain how excited we were to start a new year, with new people, and most importantly, new and cuter boys. Appearance was everything. You had to have the new lip balm, or lip gloss from Juicy Couture, and of course with every new school came a new bully, but worst of all, popular girl. In this case it was Jessica Kippler. Don't think that just because you're in 6th grade you can't be popular. I was the most popular in 6th grade, who knows how it happened, I was just glad it did.
It all fell apart when Jessica asked me to become "friends" with her.
