Six and Blueberry were climbing up the staircase, the other strange rat grumbling under his breath as she walked by his side.

Was all of her kind like this? Or was Blueberry just being Blueberry?

"Turn away for five damn minutes..."

Six didn't pay him any mind, guessing he was getting frustrated at how long the stair case was. She didn't blame him, this thing kept leading up and up and up some more.

Trinket would have raced her to the top, helping pass the time. She smiled at the thought, before it fell as her mind started to wonder off.

Was mom and aunt Violet worried about her? Was the colony worried or happy she was gone for so long? Her pace slowed slightly, her head lowering a bit.

Despite her happy attitude, Six knew the colony didn't fully accept her. She was weird, she didn't look like a rat at all. When she was a pup, she constantly relied on Marigold and her brother to keep her warm, still did on some nights.

Marigold must be worried sick, she normally was when it came to her. Grandpa and grandma might be upset too. She didn't know how long she was gone, maybe a day or more? She didn't know how long they had slept before, which only added to the problem.

"I need to get back home and soon... Blueberry, where are you gonna go when we get out? Do you have a colony to go home to?"

He didn't answer like usual, continuing up the stairs.

"What about a family? A mom and dad? What about brothers and sisters?"

Still nothing.

"It's been me and my mom for a long time, I never met my dad but she always told good things about him. I was supposed to have other siblings too, but they died when I was little, so it's just me and my adopted brother, he... he doesn't really like me thought..."

Six jumped over a broken board in the staircase.

"I have a few cousins though. Trinket is my younger cousin, and she's like a sister to me. When we were a lot younger, we would sneak out to look outside the colony's camp, and normally get into all sorts of trouble,"

Blueberry growled a bit, making her look up at him.

Why was Squeaks soooo much louder then usual? Was she telling him off in whatever the hell kinda language she was speaking?

"Killing her doesn't seem like such a bad idea now..." he groaned. He suspected he was going to get hungry soon, it had been a while since he last ate.

They came to the end at last, looking out of the vent covering just above their heads. He pushed it open, watching Squeaks jump and hold it open for him with the lid of the vent rested in her jaws.

He got out, noticing a few rats running off. Squeaks turned frantic all of a sudden, about to run after the rodents. A wide smile took over her face as she scurried to catch them.

Seven gave a groan, not even bothering to call her back. He had to stay focused. He had to get out of here and settle a score once and for all. A smirk tugged at his lips, ideas of how to get back at that stupid, no good, son of a-

Seven was brought back into reality as he noticed something in the shadows. At first he thought they were leeches scuttling in the darkness. The sound of bones popping didn't help his nerves.
