Family Outcast

chapter 1

My breath deepened as I looked at the Dragon shaped danger beast in front of me . I knew I shouldn't have started a fight I couldn't win but I still somehow did . I only managed to put a small scratch on the creacher .  Whereas I had a deep rip in my skin on my arm . Blood was flooding out of the gap and rolling down my skin . All before falling to the floor , creating a red velvety puddle beneath me . 

I sighed as the beast turned around and got ready to charge at me . My sword was in such a bad condition , I knew it wouldn’t last for much longer . So I decided to try and run away . But that failed when a giant foot smashed into the ground behind me . The impact of the attack sent me flying into the air .

Then once again I stood still trying to catch my breath as it started to lower it's head to look me in the eyes . Next thing I know a human shaped blur is flying at the beast and with a swish the dragon falls limp to the ground .

" Are you crazy? I laughed and turnt to see my friend standing on the dragon with his word in it’s head . My friend Eric and I have known each other since we were little . He's always been a better fighter than me . Even when we were little and didn't own any weapons .

Eric slowly pulled his word out of the dragon's head and blood sprayed out of the open wound . Then he swung the word through the air splattering the nearby trees in the red substance . I grinned at my friend before speaking " you love doing that dont you " My friend nodded with a serious face .

Then we both started heading back home to the capital . On the way Eric started talking about his family . Growing up with my brother and dad in the army meant that I was alone a lot as a kid so Eric and his family looked after me . " Alex common , mum said she doesn't want us back too late " I looked at my friend and slightly smiled then began to remember my dad . My dad died not long ago serving the nation . Nodding with a hit of sadness on my face , I ran up to my friend who was stood waiting for me to catch up .

Time skip : in the capital
Alex's pov

The capital busier than ever when me and Eric got back . Walking through the streets it was easy to tell , the people weren't happy . Just the expressions on their faces . It's always been like this and I've never understood it . My friend then grabbed my hand and dragged me into a dark alley . " shhhhh " I then raised an eyebrow to question my friend's actions . When I try to speak to ask him what’s going on he slaps a hand over my mouth . Seconds later some soldiers walk past , looking around for something or maybe someone .

“ ye , I'm pretty sure I saw him “ One of the soldiers in a white uniform spoke with confusion in his voice . Then he looked to the other solder “ really , if so where did he go “ I gave my friend a worried look  as the men in white walked of still talking about who they were looking for “ boss isn't gonna be happy cuz we still haven't found the kid “

Eric had done something I knew from the look on his face . Guilt was the only thing on his face as I shoved him against the alley wall . “ what the fuck did you do “ My friend looked me in the eyes “ I… It isn’t that bad really “ Shaking my head i slammed one of my hands into the wall beside him “ ok , ok , i m… may have almost shot o...one of the most highly respected families daughters “ Shock lied on my face as i looked at him unable to speak after what he said “ and now they think i’m an assassin from that night raid group “ .

Night raid , are a group of assassins and as the name implies they tend to strike at night . There’s no way Eric is a member because although he's good at fighting , he's not that smart .

I laughed lightly “ you night raid , as if “ My friend frowned at me “ i could be “ So i nodded sarcastically because i didn't want to get into a fight with my best friend “ let's go home anyway “ Nodding contently Eric led the way through the back allies . To not gather attention , as the guards were still looking for him .

Time skip : at Eric’s house
Alex’s pov

After checking over his shoulder to see if the guards were behind him , Eric opened the door and walked into his house . I followed close behind .

“ Where have you boys been? Eric’s face went pale as he turned around to see his mum stood in the kitchen with her hands on her hips . As hard as he tried he couldn’t quite speak because of how shocked he was . I started laughing at his state as he tried to speak .

Time skip : after dinner

When I left Eric’s house to go home it was already dark outside so I knew I would have to hurry . Especially If I didn't want to get in trouble with the minister for being out so late . Also I don't want to get attacked by night raid , not that I think they would go after me . I've heard they mainly target high ranking officials but I'm not sure whether to believe that rumour yet .

“ Almost home “ I sighed quietly to myself as I walked around a corner . Which is when I saw them .
