I went back to work after two uneventful days, I regretted listening to Sebastian for the first time in my life.

The manager reached out to me yesterday and said my spot was still open and if I wanted to, I could still work there. So I jumped on it.

Work wasn't any different except Mr Badmus seemed nicer to me. He stopped roasting my already burnt self-esteem and I was grateful for that. My biggest opposition at work too stopped, although they suddenly weren't my friends but I could say we worked in harmony. It was really refreshing that we got along.

"Please do come again." I smiled at the middle aged man and handed him a receipt. He kept staring at my eyes all the while. He adjusted his wire-rimmed glasses and waved. It was four and that meant bye for today. I did the necessary things and signed out to wait for Sebastian. He made me promise to always wait for him. I sat on the long bench to wait for him. He has been so sweet lately, sweeter than before. I smiled to myself as I fiddled with my bracelet. He personally blocked my father's number from my phone, not that he called back after that but just to be safe, his words not mine. I bit my lower lip to keep from smiling like an idiot. I was happy there's no doubt about that because after everything that has happened he  was still holding my hand. I felt safe with him.

"Penny for your thought?" His deep rich voice boomed beside me.

"Hi." I greeted him instead with a huge smile. He looked at me like he hasn't ever seen me before today. "Why are you looking at me like that?" I was clearly confused.

"Keep that smile on always, it suits you so much." He complimented.

"You've seen me smile before." I said simply.

"Not like this." But he didn't offer any explanation other than that. "Let's go." He took my hand and we left. The ride home was peaceful.

"Do you like Chris Brown?" I asked to break the silence, not that it was uncomfortable I guess we could agree I wanted to hear his voice.

"Nope and I don't like Justin Bieber either." I was going to ask him that too. "You see Irene and Tayo came to Nigeria sometime. She owns this car actually, I don't like big cars." There are two Range Rover sport in that house. Both are black cars.

   "Oh." I said simply.

"They designed that house to suit them both. They were here for a long time. I wasn't planning on staying here for a long time but then..." He trailed off and I knew he was talking about that night.

"Thank you." I murmured softly and he nodded. So he made one thing clear, he was only here because of me. I didn't know that until now. "So much," I added after I realised how much it must have cost him staying here when he has a career and family and has never been here before. I leaned over and kissed his cheek softly which made him smile.

The perks of having different parents. He has a Nigerian citizenship which allows him to come and leave whenever he wants and also a US citizenship. Your kids will be like him too. Oh shut up Ally.

"Wow, that was a good reward." He said smugly. I didn't say anything to that, I just twisted my fingers nervously and let my face heat up without him noticing. And as usual, he passed a drive-through and ordered some food. I once told him that I had no problem making him meals but he didn't have any of it saying that if I kept doing that, I won't be able to object even if I wanted to and stuff.

"You seem off today, what's the matter?" Leave it to him to always notice the slightest change in my mood.

"Nothing really." My voice was timid.
