"Shadow slow down." Light my older brother calls as he chases me in the woods near our little cottage. We lived on the outskirts of town because mom wanted us away from the towns people who didn't trust us. Light was my older twin brother who had light purple hair with mom's brown eyes. I had dark purple hair, mom said it was the same color as dad's, and green eyes once again like dad's. "But Light we are going to miss them!" I yell back at him only slowing a little so he could try to catch up with me. We were only five and today we were going to see the bunnies who only show up once a week. Light give a sigh before he runs faster to catch up to me and soon we were at where the bunnies would show up. We played with the bunnies until it started to get dark. "Come on Shadow you know mom doesn't like us being out this late." Light says before he pulls me back in the direction of home. When we get home mom was standing by the front door a worried look on her face but the moment she sees us she relaxes. "Mom we saw the bunnies." I say in a happy tone and mom gives us a gently smile. "Tell me all about it over dinner." Mom says before she pushes us inside. Light and I tell her all about it as we eat and soon we were both asleep.
It had been a month since we last saw the bunnies and I was sulking outside when suddenly I was picked up by someone. "Little shadow what are you doing in a place so bright?" Uncle says and I give a delighted squeal. It wasn't often that our uncle came to see us. "Uncle your here!" I say happily and he swings me so I was carried like a princess as well as him giving me candy. He chuckles a little before walking into our house and when Light sees him he runs over before jumping up. Uncle hugs us both to him a happy grin on his face. "Amaimon what are you doing here?" Mom asks when she walks out of the kitchen to see what all the noise was about. "I came to see my little light and little shadow. I also wanted to talk you about big brother." Uncle says and mom goes a little pale. "Ohh I see." Mom mumbles before she shews both Light and I out of the house to play. Uncle ends up staying the night with us and he plays with both Light and I but mom had a sad look on her face and she refused to say anything about it to us just watching us play with a sad smile on her face.
~Time Skip~
Today was our fifteenth birthday. Light and I got accepted into a nice school called True Cross. Uncle had suggested we enroll and he even talked mom into letting us go. "School starts in a week! This is the best birthday present ever." I say as I take my seat at the table as mom puts breakfast down in front of us. "It should be fun. Thanks for letting us go mom." Light says before he gives her a smile and mom gives a sigh. "You two get almost everything you want." She mumbles before we all laugh. Today we were going out to get our school things in town. A few of our things had to be ordered in. We all eat and once we were done we head to town. Shopping was great and by the end of the day things were perfect. The next day Light and I head out into the woods to play with the bunnies for the last time. Even if we were fifteen we both loved those little things to death. "Shadow it's getting late we need to pack up our things to go tomorrow." Light says and I frown a little before giving a sigh. True it was getting darker and mom would throw a fit if we weren't home in time for dinner. As we got closer to our house it felt wrong to me and I whimper a little. "Light it feels wrong." I say as I grab his arm and he glances down at me before looking at our house which was dark.
"Shadow stay right behind me."Light says and I nod before placing a hand on his back before we walk closer to the house. Light slowly opens the door before looking around the living room. "Mom you home?" Light yells and we were greeted by silence. "Maybe she went into town because she forgot something for dinner?" I say not really believing that. Mom hated going into the woods or town late at night and never let us go out either. Not since the day the wolf attacked Light and I when we were playing with the bunnies. "Mom wouldn't do that." Light says softly and I shiver a little. In the back of my mind I knew he was right. "Mom?!" Light yells again and this time we hear a light growl from somewhere in the house. "Shadow turn on the light." Light whispers at me and I reach out and flip the light on. The room quickly light up and I relax a little seeing mom's book on the arm chair where it normally rest when she was cooking. "Stay close." Light growls out lightly and I swallow thickly not liking the way things were going. We head to the kitchen and I once again flip on the light only to see mom on the floor bloody with her eyes wide open and her mouth frozen in a silent scream. "Mom!" I yell before rushing past Light over to her only to notice her wounds still bleeding.
