Awards are probably the best way to get exposure and the recognition you are surely looking for.
However, by judging just the first chapters, awards rarely are that fair. And the same happens when there's more than one judge for the same category. Opinions are different and part of the score is subjective. So, a book that could have won if it was Judge 1 reading it didn't because it was in Judge 2 list.
We are aware of those problems and that's why when we created This Bookish Awards, one of our main concerns was to solve those problems. We think we managed to do that. But no one better than you, our fellow books lover, to tell us that.
