"Oh, they're so cute, sleeping like that! I don't wanna wake 'em!" Gingerbrave cooed at the napping soul, leaning on his hands.
"Well," Ninja Cookie spoke, "Technically, they aren't... at rest."
"Oh. Wait, why'd you say it like that?"
"My apologies, it was supposed to be a play on words. I was... trying to be funny."
"Oh, okay."They stood in awkward silence for several seconds.
Ninja Cookie leaned towards Little Ghost, then nudged them ever so gently with his hand.
They blinked and looked up. Ninja delicately lifted them, holding them like a baby.
"Here, you hold them like this."
"What?"
Gingerbrave was handed Little Ghost, who seemed equally confused at the situation.
"Can't they just... Float?"
"Yes, but they deserve some luxury, do they not?"
"You're confusing me, Ninja."
Little Ghost nestled into Gingerbave's arms. They had no weight, and yet they were much warmer than expected- Such warmth almost had a sense of familiarity. Once again, Gingerbrave smiled softly. It was like holding a baby- except you could hardly feel the baby.
Gingerbrave looked at Ninja Cookie. "So, is it, uh..."
"Yes, I will be bringing you back now."
"Do I ride you again?"
"Yes, but please, never say it like that again."Ninja Cookie carried Gingerbrave again, who this time was also carrying Little Ghost.
Twists and turns, curves and jumps, and again Gingerbrave squinted the entire way- Blind to absolutely everything around him- With the exception of the warm little pet in his arms, which he felt the small form of the whole journey.
Another time, feeling that sense of familiarity in Little Ghost.Upon being delivered to a sensible location, Gingerbrave came to his senses and began to head home- however, he promptly remembered the purpose of the trip and changed his plans- He wanted to try out running right away.
Gingerbrave started the course. He jumped, jumped, slid, jump, double-jump- By some karma or placebo, he ended up doing far better- successfully avoiding all obstacles whatsoever. He was unsure whether this success was due to a boost of confidence or by sheer coincidence- though he felt very proud. Now tuckered out, he sat down.
"Ha, maybe I didn't even need you, Little Gh- WOAH!"
His eyes widened as Little Ghost, having used not a single lift, added a stark fifty million points to his score.
"...I take that back. That's.... good."
Little Ghost settled down on Gingerbrave's head. He gave them a gentle pat."Alright," Gingerbrave announced, beaming. "let's go take a well-deserved rest!"
....Even though they'd... only run once.(A/N)
