Ava's P.O.V.
We were walking toward the mountains away from town. Ryan was still holding my hand as we approached a large SUV at the edge of the woods.
I gave Ryan a confused look. "I thought that since you can't shift, a vehicle would be the best way to get to my house? I hope that's okay?"
"Yes, that's fine." I could have told them I could fly as they ran, but then I'd have more explaining to do.
I jumped in and we headed out. It was about a thirty minute trip to Ryan's pack house, it was a beautiful house next to the lake, surrounded by the woods and mountains. It was like their own little village nestled in the middle of everything wonderful.
Ryan took my hand as we got out. Everyone stopped to stare, judging me. I hated this, I shouldn't be here, I'm never going to be good enough for Ryan.
Ryan could tell I was uncomfortable, he gently lifted my chin. "Love, what's wrong?"
"I can feel them judging me." I whispered.
He chuckled, "Well it's all good things actually. They are saying how beautiful their Luna is, and have a lot of questions, but we will get to that later."
I knew exactly what they were wondering about me too, what was I? I walked into the house with the Alpha and his guys. Looking around, it was equally as beautiful as everything that surrounded this place.
We went into the kitchen. "Would you like anything to eat?"
"Dessert? I wasn't able to have any at the diner because someone rudely interrupted my dinner."
"Luna, I'm so sorry about that. I was just-"
"AVA!" I heard someone screeching out my name, interrupting Liam.
I looked around and instantly smiled. Adam ran up and grabbed a hold of my leg, hugging me. My hand ran through his hair, "Hey there little one, how are you?"
"I'm good, I thought you were leaving."
"I was but I ran into these guys, plus I really wanted to see you again."
"Hello, how do you know Adam?" A woman who I recognized as the passed out mother of Adam walked up to me hesitantly.
"Mommy, she's the angel that saved you from that man."
Shit, he was supposed to keep that between us.
"That was you?" She choked out with tears in her eyes. She came up pulling me into a big hug. "I told him you must be our guardian angel. How will I ever be able to repay you?"
"Oh, okay, you're a hugger! You don't need to repay me, I couldn't let him harm you, now could I." I said, patting her awkwardly on her back.
She pulled away. "Who was that man? It all happened so fast."
Ryan helped me to the island and pulled out a chair for me to sit down on.
"Ummmm, well his name was Hugo. He's not from around here, I'm still not really sure why he was so far away from his clan."
"Clan?" A ton of them shouted, turing their head towards me.
Ryan grabbed my hand gently, "We've had a vampire in the area, we need to go get him now, especially if he's attacking our pack."
"You don't need to worry about him, he's no longer a problem." I reassured them.
Liam leaned in, "What does that mean?"
"I'll talk slower for you, his. name. was. Hugo. and. he's. no. longer. a. problem."
I might not be a mom, and I have zero idea how to raise a child, but what I do know is you don't go about talking about how you snapped someone's neck and lit him on fire.
