"I'm starting to like you."

After he said those, I only laughed harder. Making sure it'll mask my inner emotion.

Don't make things harder for me than it already is, Jeon Jungkook.

He really loves lying to my face.

10 : 24 am...

We arrived at Kai's school and was immediately welcomed by the teacher who called me.

Kai was standing there by the gate with bruises all over his face.

"This little shit..." I went out of Jungkook's car and walked towards them.

"Ms. Manoban, I'm very sorry for bothering you." The teacher bowed.

I shook my head, "It's fine. And you, get in the car."

Kai rolled his eyes and stomped his way towards the car.

What's with the attitude, sir?!

"I should be the one apologizing for Kai's behavior. He's just a kid. I'm so sorry." I responded.

The teacher bowed to me, "We should've disciplined our students more. Take care of Kai, Ms. Manoban."

I nodded, "I will. We'll get going now. Thank you for calling."

I hopped inside the car and immediately shot Kai a glare. He looked away and fidgeted his injured fists.

I sighed, "I enrolled you to school to study. What's not clicking?"

He didn't respond. He looks like he doesn't have the least intention to tell me.

"I'm fucking talking to you. You better answer me while I'm nice." I clenched my fist, stopping the urge to punch a kid.

Jungkook suddenly reached for my fist and smiled at me, "Let him be for now. Let's wait for him to tell us."

I looked at him with my brows furrowing. It's the first time I've seen him doing the first move, unless we we're infront of our parents.

"Those uniforms..." Kai finally spoke.

"You study in that school?" He asked.

I nodded, "Yeah."

He lowered his head again and looked away. A long moment of silence before I decided to speak.

"Do you have no intention on telling me what happened today? I'm your guardian." I tilted my head.

Kai bit his lips and slowly looked up to me, "It's not a big deal."

"Then tell me." I shrugged my shoulders.

He sighed and shut his eyes close, "There were other kids calling me an orphan."

I furrowed my brows, "And?"

"They were talking about the family day happening tomorrow, noona. Everyone was participating except for me. Even the teacher insisted it's okay for me to not attend since I have no parents. The other kids started to tease me about it. That's why—"

"Where did you punch them?" I cut him off.

Kai confusedly squinted his eyes at me, "W-What?"

"I said where did you punch them?" I repeated.
