"Wake up, shithead, it's the last day of school before Christmas break! You can't be late again!" Hyerin screamed into his ear.

Three weeks had passed, and the semester was ending. He, for once, listened to his sister, getting dressed fast and grabbing a slice of bread. He said bye to his father, who was drinking coffee in the living room, reading a newspaper while Minyoo fixed the Christmas tree, as the lights were hanging weirdly. He also yelled a quick bye to his mother, who was currently in the garden to turn off the outdoors illumination (or else their electricity bill would have been insane).

He slipped in the passenger's seat of their parents car, while Hyerin got at the wheel to drop him off at school. He waved at her, then left the car to enter the building.

His math teacher greeted him as she saw him in corridors and he returned with a smile. He had finally managed to settle his problems with the woman after passing the exam a week prior with the fourth highest mark in the whole class. He had also fixed all his other grades, by the way.

"Hi," he said to his desk mate, which was Jooheon again.

"Hi. Man, I can't wait to be home and binge watch TV shows for the whole break," the other replied.

As of tradition, the last day before Christmas break was not much of a school day. Someone brought food, and the teachers closed more than one eye on the classes. Choir club went around the school singing Christmas songs and jingles, usually joined by a few people who didn't know how to sing but still knew how to annoyingly scream All I want for Christmas is you.

The school was filled to the brink with red, green, and gold. Christmas decorations were everywhere, hung by the students themselves in the course of the previous weeks. Teachers had to work beside trees or inflatable snowmen, among garlands and lights. Holiday spirit could be breathed in the air – literally, as someone had brought one of those fake snow spray cans and now half of the school reeked of whatever was in it.

History teacher entered the class, sat in his chair, took out a book and started reading, paying no attention to the class. Everyone immediately turned to their friends, got up to talk to them, someone took out a packet of cookies from his bag and started to eat one. Changkyun smiled as he got his phone from his bag.

The Christmas choir was nearing their class, their voices getting louder, and he could see a text he was kind of awaiting. He quickly opened it. It was from Kihyun (yes, he had finally got his number. Please cheer for this dumbass) and among the emojis, he was asking whether he could meet him at the park, as usual. At Changkyun's request to know the reason (he just sent 'y'), he got the shifty eyes emoji back. He giggled at the reaction, earning himself a few questioning gazes from the people around, but he ignored them. He smiled to himself as he thought about Kihyun, and the fact he would meet him soon.

The remaining school day went by fast, with the help of the teachers' own laziness adding to the students'. As it was the last day, the afternoon classes were cancelled, and everyone was free for lunch. Most kids would spend it with their friends, some with their families, while Changkyun walked to the park, occasionally skipping in his steps a little.

He had been wondering why the other boy wanted to meet him, and the curiosity couldn't help but add to the excitement of meeting him.

The previous weeks had been going very well for everyone. Other that his newly fixed grades, Changkyun also managed to snatch himself decent decorations by convincing his dad to buy some. Also, his mom had chosen to go on leave sooner, and spend a week more with her family before going back to work. Minyoo had also introduced her girlfriend to the family, bringing her to dinner one day, but without announcing it first, which led to a very confused Changkyun meeting bleached hair university girl in his own living room. Hyerin was also seeing someone at the moment, but she only told him as it was a still developing relationship.
