"Aoba, Koujaku is here," I heard Tae-san call for Aoba down stairs in the kitchen.
"Sorry I'll be right back Bell-san," I stiffened at the name but let him get away with it. He didn't realize what he'd said, its fine.
Soon after a man in a red kimono with navy looking hair walks into the room. I was laying on Aoba's bed playing a game on my coil with Bukei on my stomach then, and he turned around to Aoba as if to say 'who's this?'.
"Belen, meet Koujaku. Koujaku, Belen," Aoba introduced us quickly and I appreciated it. Koujaku nodded and I waved. Bukei noticed Koujaku's Allmate, a small red bird, who flies over to Ren in the corner. Bukei joins them, flicking his tail lightly and looking at Koujaku closely before doing so.
"I don't remember you saying you were going to come over today," Aoba spoke to Koujaku. I just continued messing around on my coil while they caught up. They seemed close, and to be honest I ship it a little.
"I told you yesterday 'I'll be over tomorrow' but you were in a hurry anyway," Koujaku answered almost sarcastically.
"If I remember correctly you said 'I'll be over sometime' don't mix up words," Aoba returned trying to mimic Koujaku's voice.
They eventually brought me into the conversation, and we ended up talking about Rib and Rhyme.
"Some of my guys straight up left the team to play Rhyme. Its annoying as hell." Koujaku was talking about how suddenly Rib members were either really irritated with the game Rhyme or just join them because they think it actually is better than Rib. Koujaku had his own team, and the Mizuki guy I met earlier does as well.
Eventually Tae-san called for us to come to dinner. The Allmate came down with us, all our stomachs empty from a day of doing work. I found out as well Koujaku owns a hair salon, and apparently a bunch of fangirls.
Dinner consisted of some fried eggplant with rice. It was simple, but the soy sauce probably made it what it was. Bukei was probably having a grand time, every one and awhile he'd swat a paw at Beni, Koujaku's Allmate, and they'd just mess around. Ren was quite calm and would watch but I believed he was amused at watching them.
"Tae-san, you don't happen to remember me do you?" After a moment of silence between everyone I spoke up. Aoba seemed a bit surprised, but Tae-san just sighed and nodded her head slowly.
I thought so, "Well that medication you'd given me ran out just a few days ago." Tae-san answered simply, "I'll just get you some more."
When I was younger Tae-san was practically like my own family. When my parents kicked me out days at a time or if I was sick of them I would come to her. Shed give me medicine for my headaches and when I told her I was leaving she gave me a few boxes of it. I used them rarely because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to afford the real deal.
Aoba probably doesn't remember me however, since we were both children. I remember him though. We grew up together. Aoba, Koujaku, and I.
"That's why you look so familiar," Koujaku said after a moment. I nodded looking at Aoba seeing if any memories fall into place. That's when his eyes widened.
"Bell-san?" Now he remembered my nickname. He probably said it earlier out of an old act not aware of it. Well now he knows.
"You look really different," Aoba looked at me closely. "Well my hair grew and I got taller."
I could just barely hear Koujaku mutter, "Barely" and I kinda maybe flipped out a little.
"I barely what?" Koujaku bit his lip.
Tae-san sighed and looked at me, warning me. I bit my own lip then.
