Hyemi bid goodbye to Haknyeon but before she could. Haknyeon went past his trick and smiled. He extended his hand. "Friends?" For the first time in forever she extended her hand. She shook it and replied,

"Friends."

"WHAT?!" Sunwoo jumped and yelled at Haknyeon. "SHE WAS SO HESITANT TO BECOME MY FRIEND BUT SHE BECAME YOUR FRIEND ON THE SPOT? THAT'S UNFAIR!" Haknyeon shrugged with a proud smile.

"Maybe I'd be the first to catch her heart this time." Haknyeon said with a cocky face.

"Calm your rolls boys! Now that Haknyeon is her friend, he can introduce us one by one and she'll open her hearts to us." Sangyeon said.

"How can you determine she'll become friends with us that easily when it's clear that Sunwoo was rejected so easily?" Changmin asked. Sunwoo agreed quickly with his statement.

"Every heard of any friend of your's is any friend on mine?" Sangyeon raised a brow at them. "Plus look at Sunwoo! He may not be friends with Hyemi BUT he already has a bit of warmth with her so I suggest you guys do the same."

The rest nodded lazily. They didn't want to deal with her as it already had been a week. Taking a girl's heart usually took 2 weeks, but Hyemi was different. By now one of the boyz would have been dating her by now to warm up to her heart but so far the boyz only had warmed up to her.

Sunwoo waited out of the orphanage. He kicked stones and dug holes in the gravel with his shoe unti he heard the gate open. He stood straight and saw Hyemi come out and lock the gates. Just as she was about to leave,

"Hyemi!" Sunwoo smiled and waved. She turned around and waved. She maintained her straight face and walked toward him.

"Why are you here today?" Hyemi asked. They started walking side by side to a nearby cafe.

"I just wanted to see if you're doing well—and about that heart thing-"

"You still want my heart?" Hyemi stopped walking and looked at him into the eyes. Sunwoo looked into her eyes and smiled,

"Only if you're willing to give me it."

Hyemi scoffed and walked backward, "Just as I thought I was getting a friend I could trust. I should've known better than to trust a theif."

Sunwoo caught up to her and grabbed her wrist. "If you don't want to give me your heart, I'm fine with that. All I could wish for normally is to be your friend."

They maintained eye contact for a while. Hyemi inhaled and said,

"Do you promise?"

Sunwoo smiled and pinky promised her, "I promise."

For the first time, Hyemi had opened up to someone other than her family. She had no trauma, she just had trust issues for no reason. She trusted him but all he thought of at the moment was nothing like her's.

His thoughts constantly repeated,
Promises are meant to be broken.
