Chapter 3: Dangerous
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I will always act tough
I won't show my emotions

Ashlynn stared at the monsters that could break through their barrier any seconds, her mind going a hundred miles per hour, trying to find a way out of this trap. Her hand started fidgeting as she looked around at the helpless case.
"What can we do?" she couldn't help but ask Ellie, being a daughter of Athena, she had to have a plan, right?
"We can fight past them, I guess," Ellie finally replied after a moment of silence. But Ashlynn knew immediately that would be a suicidal move. There is no way they could get past those monsters by just fighting. And with Ellie's power down, there is no other way. Her eyes scanned their surroundings again.
She nudged Ellie. "Are you sure you can't think of anything else? You're usually good with planning these kinds of stuff."
"Usually," Ellie pointed out with a shrug. "I don't have a plan now."
There is something about her... Ashlynn couldn't help but think to herself as Ellie continued standing there, seemingly deep in thought. She noticed that her friend have been acting differently ever since she came back from being "trapped" in her mind. It's like Tartarus said or did something...
Her eyes widened as the thought suddenly hit her. But she shook it away. Pfft, there's no way that's true! She's too loyal!
Ashlynn hoped that she was right as she touched the bracelet in her hand, her bow appeared in her hand as a quiver full of arrows magically appeared in her back. She notched an arrow, as Ellie got her hunting knives ready.
Within the second the barrier breaks, the monster charged in, one after the other, one after one, looking more aggressive than the last. It was a terrifying moment for Ashlynn. She had always thought of their part of the forest as somewhere safe. But now, not so much. She shoots arrows after arrows, each finding each target but she wasn shooting fast enough and she knew if they don't do something soon, they will soon be eaten.
But while she was deep in thought, thinking and not paying much attention to her surroundings, a monster sneaked up on her as he bite her leg, refusing to let go. Ashlynn let out a loud scream of pain as her arrow shrinked back to being a bracelet and Ellie quickly ran toward her.
Ashlynn couldn't focus on anything, her world blurry. All she could feel was the burning sensation on her left leg, teeths sinking into her skin, drawing something warm. Maybe it was blood, it probably was. But then she felt the teeth being pulled away from her body as she let out another ear piercing scream. It was one of the most painful things she had ever experienced. Based on the way her leg is burning up, she'll say the monster is poisonous.
She wanted to close her eyes, this was too much for her. The pain, all the howling. Her eyes started closing but someone slapped her away. Ellie leaned over her, but in her hallucinations from blood loss state, she thought she saw her younger sister, Jayne instead.
"Are you okay?" She asked as Ashlynn blinked a few times as she nodded, wanting to act brave in front of her sister.
"Yeah, I'm completely fine. No need to worry about me," she let out a small and forced chuckled that soon turned into a cough.
