PISCES

"See you later, Mom!" I rushed out of the house, watching the sun rise over the beach as I ran toward the waves with my surfboard. Taking my flip flops off, I rushed into the water, heaving myself onto my board with a rush of power. Paddling toward a rising wave, I placed my toes on the edge of my surfboard, the balls of my feet raised, hands ready.

I pushed myself up, spreading out my hands to find my balance. Preparing myself for the next wave break, I sighed, looking out at the beach...

Only to see a boy sliding off a floatie into the water.

Keeping my calm, I rode the wave toward the boy, heaving him onto my board. He looked strangely familiar... I sighed, laying him down on my surfboard and slowly pushing the board toward shore.  Once I had him on the sand, I gazed at the boy tentatively, wondering how to wake him up. Brushing his hair out of his lashes gently, I noticed just how gorgeous he was: chiseled jawline, perfect golden tan, a lean yet athletic build. I found myself gazing at the mystery boy, stroking his hair gently.

Snap out of it, Pisces! You can't just... do that!

He wasn't waking up. There was really only one thing left to do.... I pressed my mouth against his, pumping his chest rapidly.

I heard a gasp. "Oh my god, you're okay!" I smiled at the mystery boy, backing away slightly. He smiled back, his dimples evident. "Thank you, so much..."

"Pisces. I, um, go to Golden High?"

He nodded, still smiling. "I'm, um, Libra... You might know me?" No. Damn. Way. Was it really the Libra who I had saved? Libra, the gorgeous quarterback whom Cancer had crushed on back in Year Seven? "I'm sorry, that was such a silly thing to say, you probably do know me." Libra stood up, an awkward, sheepish grin on his face. "Oh, it's, uh, it's all good..." He smiled, pushing his hair back. "Well, thank you for saving my life, Pisces. Come have some breakfast with me?" I backed away slightly, shaking my head. "O-oh, no, there's really no need." He smiled again, his perfectly white teeth shining in the sun. "Come on, I don't bite."

He extended his hand, gesturing for me to take it.

I smiled, taking Libra's hand. "Alright, then."

.....

"Whoa! This... is paradise." I found myself gawking at Libra's outdoor breakfast bar just off the beach, tucking into my pancakes. Now showered and groomed, Libra gulped down his own smoothie as fast as possible, wincing slightly at his hangover headache. This was exactly why I'd left the party early. "Ugh, I should probably go ask Taurus for some hangover pills..." He sighed, looking down at his feet. "I'm exhausted." I smiled reassuringly, patting Libra's back. "I'll go grab those hangover pills for you, okay?" He smiled weakly, resting his head on the benchtop.

"Taurus' room is the third one to the right on the second floor." I nodded, hurrying off toward the grand staircase.

"Third room to the right, third room to the right..." I walked toward the end of a corridor of massive, grandly set out rooms, not quite paying attention to where I was going. I looked into a room momentarily, noticing the beautiful gloss finish on all the furniture, the rich, heavily traditional fireplace, and the golden trim on every single piece of linen in the room.

"That's the Grand Suite. Worth about $500, 000 dollars. Custom-made fireplace all the way from Liverpool, UK, refurbished Victorian furniture, and Egyptian gold-plated linen. No wonder it caught your eye." I turned around, flustered, finding myself face-to-face with another boy who heavily resembled Libra-same chiseled jawline, brownish-black hair, golden tan... This boy had the brightest blue eyes I had ever seen. "Um, you just gonna stare at me or..." I cleared my throat, eyes widening. "O-oh, no, sorry... You must be Taurus, right?" He nodded, smirking. "And you're the Ariel to my brother's Eric, aren't you?"

He laughed, leanding against the doorframe. "Only problem is, he already has a girlfriend. Scorpio. Sure, she's not too hard on the eyes, and she's got a brain in that head of hers, but she's also extremely possessive. Like myself, actually." Taurus pushed himself off the doorframe, still wearing that insufferable smirk, before bringing himself close enough to whisper something to me. "She's probably not going to love the fact you gave him mouth-to mouth."

I frowned, disgusted with Libra's brother. "I saved your brother's life, you jerk!" He patted my shoulder gently, almost as if he were trying to calm me. "Hush, mother's still getting her beauty sleep." Taurus pulled out a leaf of pills from his pocket. "I suppose you want hangover pills. I guess Eric's a little drunk, huh?" I rolled my eyes, heading right back down the stairs. "Goodbye, Ariel!"

Libra raised his head from the counter, taking the pills from my hands. "Thanks, Pisces." He gulped one down, the morning sun making his blackish-brown hair sparkle slightly. His golden tan was positively glowing-I wondered what he'd done to achieve that perfect a shade.

"I surf too. That's why I have this tan." I blinked, surprised, at how accurately Libra had deciphered my thoughts. "How-" He chuckled, washing his own glass out. "I'm just really good at telling what's going through people's minds." I smiled, finishing off my pancakes. "Here, let me get that for you." Libra grabbed my plates. "Oh, no I got it-"  I found myself once again inches from Libra's face, his long lashes almost touching my face.

"What is going on here?"

Libra hurriedly backed away from me, turning to acknowledge his girlfriend. "She was just leaning over to grab the plate from my hand-" Scorpio marched up to Libra, giving him one tight slap. "You jerk!" Libra rubbed his cheek, frowning. "Scorpio, please, calm down!" Scorpio seethed. "Why would I calm down? In the span of 24 hours, you've gone and kissed one girl, and are this close to kissing another one!" Libra'e eyes widened. "What do you mean, I kissed a girl?" Scorpio gasped. "You're not serious, are you?" Libra answered with a confused expression. "Oh, my god. Look at this!" She held out her phone, a photo of Libra kissing some cheerleader open on it.

"I'm sorry, I was drunk, I don't even know who that is-"

"You don't know who it is? YOU DON'T KNOW WHO IT IS?"

"No, I don't-"

"It's Leo! That dumb, ditsy cheerleader!"

"What? Really?"

"Yes!"

Libra's expression brightened. "Well then, you know perfectly well that this was a mistake! I mean, Leo and I have been friends since freshman year." Scorpio sighed. "Libra, she's liked you since middle school." Libra frowned, taking a step back.

"It's true, Libra. A friend of mine also liked you in middle school. When Leo found out about her crush on you, she, well, bullied her into staying away from you." Libra looked down at his feet, still frowning. "She... liked me? How come I never noticed?" Scorpio laughed, still angry. "Because you never noticed Leo. Like, ever." Libra sighed, grabbing his car keys. "Look, Scorpio, you have every right to be upset with me, but while you're here, can I offer you a ride to school?" Scorpio shook her head. "I have my own car." Libra hung his head, guilt and remorse written across his face. "Alright then. Let's go, Pisces."

Scorpio turned around, enraged. "Are you really that dumb, Libra?" Libra frowned, crossing his arms. "In case you didn't know, Scorpio, Pisces saved my life. She pulled me out of the water and then she gave me mouth-to-mouth-"

"Mouth-to-mouth?"

"She's the damn reason I'm alive, Scorpio! Just be reasonable here-"

"Oh, I'm done."

Scorpio stormed off the porch, car keys jingling. Libra looked down at his feet once again, looking extremely downcast. Noticing me out of the corner of his eye, Libra cleared his throat, offering me a smile. "I'll work it out. Don't worry." He held out his hand. "Come on, you still need a ride to school, right?" I smiled, taking Libra's hand. "Yeah, I do."
