It has been four years since Rosaline has been taken by the institute...she watched the clock tick on her ceiling replaying memories of her sad excuse of a life over and over in her head. The Institute is multiple military sectors which hold the descendants, which are known as the cursed. These children are holders of the New Eras demigod powers.

One hundred years ago the greek gods fell down to earth to create the new era, an era where there are supernatural children and ancient wars. That was how things were like for fifty years until the descendants started to lose the gods bloodline, but strangely enough fifty years later children are starting to gain wild uncontrollable powers that are absolutely unexplainable.

Rosaline is one of these children and a dangerous one in fact. The clestar family tree goes down from before the New Era. They are a line of rich pompous pricks who believe that the gods don't belong on earth, so when the new Era began they were hosted the anti descendant court debate, pretty useless honestly, but never in a million years did they think that Madras sisters child was in fact what they hated the most. Madra took Rosaline and Cara in reluctantly because it was Jenavieve's, Rosaline's mother's dying wish.

After Rosaline was taken they framed her 'tragic' death and moved on with their lives while Rosaline was held captive. In the institute they trained the cursed to become dangerous killing machines. They were trained to be numb and heartless and 'handle' military tasks. The only reason they had not escaped was because the chips embedded inside their wrists. These chips are not only trackers, when anyone who wears it disobeys orders they send an excruciating shock wave all over the person's body, so they try and avoid trouble. Why are the descendants hated you may ask? Well before the institutes were created descendants couldn't control their powers and they caused a lot of issues. After a year the military started killing the descendants and captured the ones left.

When she arrived at the institutes she woke up in a dull grey room with barred windows and metal doors and she stayed in that same rotting room for four years. Everyday they would feed her leftovers then take her to training. The training consisted of three sections: power training and identifying, physical training and weapons training and lastly drug injecting. The power training was pushing the captors to their limits repeatedly till they have none and hopefully find new clues to their bloodline and same idea for the physical training. The drug injections are when they finish training, they strap them too chairs and inject them with three vials: a yellow vial which helps enhance powers to show more of their special features, a red vile which pushes the effects of the yellow vial to the next day and a green vial which makes them extremely tired, so they wouldn't try and do any trouble.

After four years of this very tiring schedule Rosaline gave up on escaping and focused on staying alive. Everyday her powers grow stronger and she fears she may not be able to control them in the future.

The only way out is the global sector event, the training instructors announced it at the first training lesson we ever had. This event is hosted by the elites, also known as government descendants who were raised to fight with the side who kills them. As as much as being an elite descendant would be outrageous it's the only way to freedom.

Ro heard a piercing siren play waking her up from her slumber. She looked around her room that consisted of a worn out grey bed and a set of drawers. She wiped her eyes groggily and went to change. Ro was now seventeen years old with green eyes, pitch black hair and from staying inside so long, she was very pale. She got changed into her military outfit and waited till they came to pick her up. Sirens usually mean that the captors need to go to the great hall to talk to the leader of the institute. She heard the door creak open, there stood a tall masked man and without a word she stood up and followed him. The building was a pasty colored prison like place with multiple rooms and a barbed wire fence stood outside. She never went outside and she craved to feel the sun on her skin once more, but some things were apparently too far fetched.

The man stopped walking and they met up with other children then some men opened a huge metal door with one of his companions. Inside there was the great hall filled with children sitting in a huge group. The man I was walking with pushed me next to a girl and we sat in silence. Suddenly the screen in the room opposite me lit up showing a recording of the sector general.

"In one days time we will send some of you to attend a global sector event" he said in monotone voice "this event is what is known as the the elites choosing...whoever partakes in this will have a chance to join the elites...a chance of normalcy"

its time

It's finally time

There were gasps all over the hall

"the selected two from our sector will be assessed by their control, strength and skill " everyone was going ballistic.

"Congratulations to Joseph Ceron and Amanda Berken you have been chosen" Ro's hands shook..no..no she needs to leave

"Now for all of you who haven't been chosen...there is a third slot available....we will be hosting a test to see who is most fit to take this opportunity in your normal training halls, dismissed"

There's a chance she could make it, all her hard work could finally pay off.

Gloved hands shook her out of her daze by pulling her towards the iron doors. The lady led her to her training room and pointed to the direction of the mirror. Ro sat down and picked on her nails. She needs to leave whatever it takes, she cant be afraid anymore, she'll do what she needs to do.

A commander walked in and started calling out names of our room one by one till he reached mine.

"Rosaline Celestar came to the front" I stood up and walked to the centre of the room. The room was empty with mirrors put up on each wall.

"First we will test you on how well you will put up on a fight...don't hold back...they are you enemies" three people with bags covering their heads were dragged in the room "these are uncontrolled descendant, monsters even, do everything to stop them"

Descendants? She had to fight her own?

"3...2...1 start"
