Anastasia's POV
"Move, stupid weasle." Draco shoulder-checked Ron as he passed them in the hall.
Lucy and I were leaning against the wall outside of my next class. Apparently she read a book last night that talked about how Hogwarts was built. Now I knew plenty about the buttresses holding up the castle. She spun in a circle to gawk at the building's interior.
Malfoy slipped a piece of paper between the pages of my notebook when he walked by.
Once we got back to the common room, my fingers pulled the paper out and I read it:
"Astronomy Tower. 4pm. Bring a brain if you can find one."
How sweet, I thought and put the note in my pocket.

"I thought you'd never show up," I said as Draco came up the stairs.
"Just be glad I'm here," he glowered.
"Glad to see you're in a good mood, as always," I cocked my head at him.
He ignored me and sat down, pulling out his book and opening to pages filled with scribbled notes.
"Okay how far have you gotten?" He turned and looked at me as if I were an actual human rather than the three-headed monster or the cockroach on the sidewalk that he usually acted like I was.
"Uhhh unit one."
"Which lesson?"
"One...?"
He sighed and sat back in his chair. "You realize I learned this perfectly well when I was eleven, don't you? Aren't you supposed to be a Ravenclaw?"
"I started weeks into the school year, Draco. And yes... I am. Ravenclaw's not all about stupid potions class," I defended myself.
"Oh yeah? What's Ravenclaw all about then?" He mocked interest.
"I- well... I'm still new, I don't necessarily know how it works. Wise and... stuff. Nice?"
"Nice belongs to hufflepuffs. They're insufferable. Ravenclaws are wise, accepting, creative and overall just annoying smart-asses."
"That's me," I waved my hands as if to present myself. "If you know so much then why aren't you in Ravenclaw?"
Draco laughed and changed the subject back to potions like the question wasn't even worth his time.
He flipped through the pages quickly and showed me potion after potion in more detail than even Snape described them in. Somehow I followed everything he said. More than followed. I clung to each word that left his mouth, mesmerized by his knowledge which he explained so well and about which he seemed genuinely passionate. It was a rare sight.
"Is this what it takes?" I questioned when he took a break to write something down. He hadn't looked at me once, but I had been watching him the whole time. What a perplexing boy. I thought I was just messing with him this whole time for fun, because he was interesting, to get to know him, to get on his nerves, but I strangely enjoyed his presence.
"What?" He looked up at me and his face dropped to an irritated one once again.
"You seemed like much less of a tosser when you were teaching me potions. Hell, Malfoy, it's been nearly an hour of you just blabbering on."
"Did you not understand it all?" He ignored my statement about him once again.
"I understood it perfectly."
"Good. Snape will be checking your scores before he'll give me any house points."
I shook my head, "house points. Shut up about your house points."
"They're important," he sat up in his chair. "It's the only reason I'm here anyway."
"Incredibly important, I'm sure. Slytherin must win right? It's the only thing that matters to you?"
He looked me in the eyes and leaned in, "exactly."
