Author's Note: Hewo humans or non-humans, I don't judge. Anyways, I did a weird little thing with the dialog so yeah. Sorry if it bothers you I just wanted this story to not be just a box of the same text. Any-who, this is the key:

"Old Man" = Old man                                                                 "Someone else" = Someone else

Oh, also, I am happy to take on constructive feedback, but please be nice, I am fragile TwT.        Okay, That's all. Enjoy the story! :D

Once upon a time there was an old man. The old man was an apple harvester and live in a little cottage with 20 apple trees in his once extravagant orchard. He was retied and had only one grandson left as family. His grandson was in his late twenties and wasn't really in touch.

One Day an orchard started growing in the flower bed above hanging from the window pale white window. The old man was nearly blind and mistook the orchids flowers for apple blossoms. He tended to the orchid as if it were an apple tree.

One night a mysterious force demolished all of the apple trees in the old man's orchard. He was terribly upset by this, but he had hope when he mistook the orchids flowers for apple blossoms.

He tended to the orchid, as well as trying to regrow the lost apples in the orchard. This went on for 3 years, the old man watered the orchid hoping for apples to bloom and some what neglecting the real apple trees. His neighbours saw this but thought nothing of it.

One sunny day the old man had a visitor, it was his  grandson who had come to ask him permission to wed the man of his dreams. The old man was confused at first, but then understood that his grandson was gay. He so happy for him that he cried for joy. He invited his son and his soon to be son in law inside for some lunch. The young men were in their late twenties and told the old man about how they met. The boys offered to help out in the orchard and the old man set them to work. The grandson was confused when his grandfather started to water an orchid.

"Grandfather, why do you have the one orchid in that flower bed?" the grandson questioned.

"What ever do you mean boy?" inquired the old man,

"I am referring to the orchid you are currently watering." Responded the boy.

"This isn't an orchid silly boy; this is the blossoms of an app-" the old man took a closer look at the thing he was watering and realised that what he had been watering was in fact, an orchid. The Orchid had beautiful pearl white petals with many flowers upon its steam.

"How long have you thought that orchid was an apple blossom grandpa?" asked the grandson,

"Might have been three years ago after the orchard suffered a huge lose." The old man replied. "

Oh, that's unfortunate, you must be really disappointed" the other male said.

"I wouldn't say disappointed, more surprised. Besides, it makes sense now." The old man said.

"What makes sense?" the boys asked. "

I always felt happier when I was watering this one, almost as if she were hugging me tight. Orchids were her favourite flowers." the old man said wistfully.

"Who are you talking about grandfather?" asked the grandson curiously.

"I miss her you know," the old man said, not hearing his grandson's question, "I will be seeing her soon I imagen..."  the old man trailed off, lost in his thoughts.

"Who are you talking about old man?" asked the grandson's fiancé. The old man smiled and look at the young man.

"Why, my lovely wife, Lucy"
