Aelin felt sick.
Rowan had had a court meeting to go to but Aelin stayed in their room because she had a sore stomach, and she couldn't stop throwing up. Rowan had called a healer called Ember and Rowan would of stayed with Aelin but he was going to be late to the meeting.
He had come back two hours later after the meeting and he had found Aelin. She was looking very pale and she was sitting at the kitchen counter, sipping a cup of something warm that looked like tea.
Rowan sat next to Aelin and kissed her forehead.
"You feeling any better now?" He questioned her.
"To be honest not really but I'm not throwing up as much anymore and the tea is helping, I think."
"Good." Rowan was happy she was feeling better.Just as he started to feel relieved he then remembered something he has been waiting to ask her,
"Do you know why you felt so sick?"She averted her gaze and stared at the floor while she spoke,
"Ummmm y-yes."
"Fireheart what is it? You seem nervous.""I need to tell you something..." she said cautiously. Rowan was very worried now.
"Is it a big something or just something?" He asked.
"A big something."
"How big?" Rowan was puzzled
"Very" She still wasn't looking at him, she obviously had a lot to tell him and was terrified of what his reaction would be.
"You don't want to tell me, do you?" Rowan asked her carefully.
"Uhh... no- I mean, um,"Aelin was more pale than ever now.
Something was wrong."Just tell me." He pleaded,
"I- I can't." She still had not looked at him yet.
He tilted up her chin towards his face and looked her in the eyes.
"Fireheart" She didn't know what to say.
"Tell me, I promise I won't be angry or anything like that I'll be fine no matter what you tell me!"
"Promise?" She looked on the verge of tears now.
"I promise, Fireheart.""I know this is way too soon after Lyria and what happened to her, I know you probably don't want this..."
His mind started racing as he heard that last part about Lyria and he immediately came to a conclusion but he couldn't believe it.
There's no way...
It's not possible...
Could she be..."I'm pregnant." Her voice was thick with emotion.
His heart stopped. He couldn't believe it. Rowan didn't know what to say but realised he had to say something because Aelin was getting more nervous about what he will think by the second.
"So...? Are you okay with this? Or is it too soon after last time with her?"
"No, Aelin, this is amazing! I've never been more happy in my life!" Aelin had tears streaming down her face and now he was trying to hold back tears but eventually gave up even trying to hold them back."Really?" She asked. "Are you sure you wanna do this?"
"Yes Fireheart! I'm sure!"
"Good! I thought you wouldn't want any of this! I'm so relieved your okay with it!"
"Of course I'm okay with it! I'm thrilled!"
He was so overjoyed he felt like he would never stop smiling."Should we tell anyone or should we wait a little bit?" Rowan asked.
"Well I need to tell Lysandra, but we could maybe wait just a bit longer before we tell the others."
"Need?" Rowan questioned her jokingly.
"Yes! Of course! It's a necessity!"
"And what about Aedion? Should we tell him?"
"Nah. We'll keep it a secret and then I can casually bring it up in conversation and act like it was obvious and confuse him!" She glared at him with an evil grin.
"Gods, you are insane, Fireheart." He said while chuckling softly,She grinned too and said with tears still streaming down her face,
"I know."
