Chapter Two

Their heads throbbed in pain as the twelve girls, slowly regained their conciousness. Hyewon got on her feet and assisted Minju and the others to stand up "Where are we?" Yuri asked, sounding like she's scared because of the unfamiliar sight before her.

Yena held her hand and although they are wearing gloves, Yuri could feel her warmth. They were inside an empty cafeteria. Bottles of soda and empty packets of chips were scattered around the area.

"Skled? What's skled?" Wonyoung asked while looking at the paper that is posted on the vending machine.

"We're in the game" all of their heads turn towards Hyewon. Eunbi frowned "What?".

"Don't you guys remember the game? Among us! The lobby and this cafeteria are the same! Look at our space suits" Hyewon pointed at her brown suit "It resembles the game!".

"Hello there, my guests" the robotic voice said "Welcome to my room and as the host, I expect that all of you would follow the rules".

"What the fuck do you want?!" Chaewon spat, her patience is slowly wearing out. Hitomi held her back "Calm down, Chaewonnie. Your hot head won't do anything".

"I suppose that Hyewonnie, already told you the rules but for uniformity, allow me to say it again" they stood there and waited for the instructions "Your backpacks has a tablet that will show you the whole map of the skled. On the upper left hand corner of the screen, you can see your tasks".

The robotic voice continued on "For the impostors, the fake tasks are also there. Sabotage, vent, and kill the crew mates to win. Be warned though, the impostors are not humans anymore, I've installed chips that could alter their mind so they could focus on their killings".

Eunbi clenched her fists at the thought of their friends might not be their friends anymore but, it's a survival and she needs to guide them well.

"Click report if you've seen a dead body and if you knew who the impostors are, click the buzzer in the middle of the table inside the cafeteria".

The robotic voice faded and an eerie hush echoed througout the cafeteria. Their tablets beeped and the words "There are 3 impostors among us", flashed on the screen.

"Wh-what do we do now?" Minju asked.

"Do your tasks and don't go alone" Eunbi spoke "Go by pairs so you can watch each other's back. If you find something or anything suspicious, report it".

After receiving a nod, they quickly dispersed to do their assigned tasks.

Chaeyeon and Sakura went to the upper engine to allign the craft. Chaeyeon decided to let Sakura do her tasks first before doing hers.

"Who do you think it is?" Chaeyeon asked. The sudden question made Sakura jolt "Not sure, probably Kang-chan?" She replied before going back to work.

"Why Hyewon?"

"I mean, she knows everything about the game and such" she replied plainly. Chaeyeon stared at her for a while before going back to work. Chaeyeon decided to stand beside the vent to guard Sakura in case if an impostor would vent.

"All done now Jjae. Let's go to the lower engine" Chaeyeon nodded her head and they were about to leave the room when suddenly, they heard a vent open near them.

The two of them froze on their spots and Chaeyeon, pulled Sakura behind her.

"Wh-what was that?" Sakura uttered, if not for the suit, Sakura could've buried her face on Chaeyeon's back because of how scared she is.

"It sounded like a vent" Chaeyeon whispered. The two of them ducked down and Chaeyeon, clench her fist tight to ready herself. She mentally counted down before peaking.

"Woah! Chill! It's us!"

"Chaewon?! Geez, I almost smack you on the face" Chaeyeon retracted her hand "We heard a vent being open where you guys came from".

"Opening vent? We didn't hear anything" Chaewon spoke as she turn towards Hitomi "Did you hear anything, love?".

"No unnie" she simply replied. Sakura found the couple odd but, Hitomi is a natural nervous-wreck while Chaewon, is a free-spirited girl along with Yujin and Yena.

"We'll go now unnies" Chaewon tugged her girl towards the electrical room. The two older couple decided to go to the admin when suddenly, the doors jammed, making them stucked inside.

On the other hand, Eunbi, Nako, Yena, and Yuri decided to stick together as they went to the navigation.

"Aish! Yena unnie! You'll just shoot the damn asteroid!" Nako frustratingly yelled while watching Yena missed every asteroid.

"Nako, this thing is too hard!"

"Enough! Just shoot, Choi come on!" Eunbi said. She badly wanted to help the duck but, they weren't supposed to do the other tasks apart from their own.

Yena is on the last shot when the lights suddenly turned off. The navigation's control panel was also shut down.

"Guys! The door!" Nako pointed at the shut metal doors, Yena and Eunbi tried to kick it but it was no use. Their flashlights were also off just like what happened to Chaeyeon and Sakura.

It felt like a cold bucket of water was dump onto them when they heard the vent open. Their instincts was to fight,but, their fear consumed their whole body and they couldn't move.

Silence...

Until they heard someone choking inside the room and a loud thud. The vent closed and when the lights turned back on, Yuri's legs gave way upon seeing Yena on the ground, lifeless.

There was a knife embedded deep on her neck. Yena's eyes were lifeless and empty and all Yuri and the rest could do was to cry.

"Yena unnie!"

Nako pressed the report button and they found themselves teleported insidr the cafeteria.

"Who died?" Chaewon cautiously asked.

"Y-Yena unnie" Yuri's reply earned a loud gasp coming from the others. Yujin and Hyewon couldn't believe their ears.... their bestfriend is gone.

"You have 100 seconds to figure out who it was".

"I'm going to kill you!" Hyewon raged while looking directly at the cctv camera. Minju and Hitomi, held her back and did their best to calm her.
