Once upoon a time there was a family. Now this was a happy family. There was a mother and father, three girls and one boy. The father was a successful man in the military; the mother stayed home with the children. While their father was at work for most of the day, the mother homeschooled her children. She gave them all piano lessons. She cheered on her son in little league baseball, and clapped for her girls in both dance and gymnastics. When their father came home from work, they would sit down to a lovely homemade meal and say grace. On the weekends they would take walks or go to the park and have picnics. Every Sunday they would go to church.
I suppose this is what some call the perfect life. A peacefully, serene life. And it is a perfect life, it really is. However, the funny thing about life is that just when everything seems to be perfect, reality has a tendency to come and mess everything up.
In the year of 2003, their father was stationed on the island of O'ahu, Hawaii. Within two months the entire family was settling down into their new house. And just like that, everything was how it was before.

Every morning is the same as it was yesterday. The same as it has been for all of my life. Get up. Get dressed. Clean room. Eat breakfast. Start school. Eat lunch. Practice piano. More school. Dance lessons. Violin lessons. Gymnastics. Brothers little league practice. Come home. Clean up. Dads home. Set table. Pray. Eat dinner. Read. Go to bed.
Wakes up
Pulls on clothes.
Same toast.
Math and English
Peanut butter and jelly.
Same sheet music. Da-da-dum-duh....
Science and religion.
Plié and pointe...
Un, deux, twa....
Bars and beam.
Drives home.
Shower.
Door opens and shuts. Hug father.
Set same plates down.
Our father, who art in heaven-
Eat.
Pages turn.
Closes eyes.
Wakes up....
And that's my life.
