He opened the trap door.
He was surprised no dust, no creaking, the hinges were even oiled. He heard slithering and hissing. He shivered in fright, please no more snakes. He really hated snakes. Now time to overcome a great fear. He climbed into the trap door on the ceiling. He took two steps then his knees buckled and he fell to the ground. They started slithering over him he didn’t move he just shivered in fright. One snake tried to get in his mouth; he muffled his own scream and shut his mouth tight. The snake moved away.
He had to move sometime soon or he was a very dead man. More snakes more death he thought. He looked up and he saw the thing that would save him. There was a ladder on the ceiling. He had to this quick. He jumped up gripped the ladder and started to make his way towards the door on the other side of the room. Snakes tried to jump and bite him but they were too small. Suckers he thought. When he finally got to the other side of the room, he opened the door, jumped in and slammed it. Safe a last, he thought. He looked around. There was a desk with one drawer, and on the desk were a pen and a book that said Simon’s Life on the front. He walked up, opened the drawer and there was a map…
