Ooh! Ican't wait! I thought to myself. I finally get to see Lily at her house in London! I can't believe that it has been two years since we've seen each other! Oh great. Who's calling me now?! IT'S LILY!
"Hey Lily!"
"Who's ready for an awesome week at my house?"
"Oh yeah!"
"How long until your flight leaves?"
"Uhh... About ten minutes."
"This is going to be the longest day ever! Why didn't you get an earlier flight?"
"Well I am so sorry that I couldn't get dressed, eat breakfast, go to the airport, and get on my flight any earlier than 2:30 in the morning."
Laughter rang out over the phone so loud that I think anyone within 20 feet could hear it.
"I'll have dinner ready for you when you get here."
"Ok. See you soon!"
Just as I hung up, the speaker announced that my flight was arriving. I slept for approximately six hours of the ride, woke up for breakfast, and then ate lunch on the plane. The airplane landed at about 5:30 in London. I then proceeded to get my bags and call Lily.
"Hi Lily."
"I'm assuming that you've landed?"
"You have assumed correctly, Wise One. So... What's for dinner?"
"Steak and stuffing. That is, if you like steak and stuffing..."
"Are you kidding? I love steak and stuffing!"
"Ok. So when do you think you'll be here? Roughly six o'clock?"
"Most likely, unless traffic is bad. See you soon!"
"Ok. Bye."
To get to Lily's house I had to go through rush hour traffic and then drive another block.
Knock, knock, knock, knock. Where is she? Knock. Knock.
"Who is it?"
"Who do you think? Here, I'll give you a hint: I drove half an hour to get here."
"Uhh..."
"It's Amy!"
"I know, I know. Sorry it took me so long to get to the door. I was just finishing up cooking the steak. Come on in!"
"So how's life out here in London?"
"You know. Same old, same old. Although there were reports of a spaceship during the Christmas that I was away."
"A spaceship, huh?"
"Yeah. I don't believe a word that they say anymore."
"Well then. I guess you won't believe what I saw either."
