I Am Super

The Trip To No-Were.

Is soon as I got out of the cafeteria, I felt bad for getting angry with Kasey. She was just looking out for me. She has had to put up with me for the past Six months and i tell you, that's no easy task. I turned and started banging my head against the wall.
"Stupid!"
Bang.
"Stupid!"
Bang.
"Stupid!"
"I suppose your not hitting the wall to get revenge on it?"
The headmaster was standing there, behind me, and probably saw my whole performance. I decided to make light of the situation.
"Actually, I am. It stuck its foot out in my way and laughed at me."
"Well, if your done beating up the wall, I'd like you to come with me." he smiled. The headmaster was a nice guy, and it was impossible not to like all 7 Feet of him, from his long brown hair to the pointed toes of his boots.
"We'll finished this later." i said to the wall, in a staged whisper. The headmaster laughed and motioned for me to come along. "Ok, no more stalling. come with me." I sighed, hitched up my backpack, and followed in the headmasters wake.

"There's rumours that you," The headmaster squinted at his papers behind his small glasses. "Josef, and Zach are leaving campus this weekend. Are they true?" i looked up into his deep blue eyes. They held no anger, no disappointment, on the contrary, they held the smallest sliver of pity. "Uh, maybe?" He looked at me with a Really? face. "Fine, you got us. we are going off campus, but we will be safe."
"You know, from the year you have been here, i get the feeling your all but careful, let alone safe." He sighed. "I will let you go" my face light up "but only if you tell us what you are doing." my face fell. "I'm sorry sir, but i can't really tell you"
"Why is that?"
"Well, if you knew, you wouldn't let us go."
"I won't let you go either way then" i put my face in my hands. Goddam, he had us trapped on all sides. I pulled my head up and looked him in the eye. "We are going to a lab, don't ask where, because i don't know. Josef has that info. Apparently, that's got something to do with al this." I gestured at the school and at us. "please, sir. Let us go. This is the lead we all have been looking for. We need to find out why we are like this. I need to find out why I am like this, and why all of our parents are dead. Please, sir. just let us go." The headmaster took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. "you can go" he said putting on his glasses. "On one condition." You are prepared and safe. "Thank you headmaster" I said, standing up and going to the door. "Your welcome. oh, and James?"
I paused in the doorway. "Yeah?"
"Bring me back some Pringles. I'm absolutely craving some Pringles."
I smiled, and started walking out the door.
"Will do sir, will do."

The fallowing days past in a blur. It was Friday night, and we were packing up the car, getting ready to go.
"Kinda like the old days, huh, James?" asked Josef, turning from stuffing some blankets in the back to look at me, leaning against the car. "ya, remember that time we want camping and jumped off that cliff into the water? There was this big piece of rock, hanging out beyond the piece we were jumping off of, so it felt like we were scraping past death with every jump." I let out a small laugh. "Ya, good times..." Josef put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry. We will find out what happened to our parents, and if somebody killed them, or cut there brake pads....." he trailed off, cracking his knuckles. We stood there by the car for god nows how long in silence, listening to the sounds of squirrels scurrying on the ground, and wind whistling through the tree branches. So when Zach came bursting through the doors, stumbling down the steps, with a beer bottle in his hand, we jumped a few feet in the air. "cummon, geys," he slurred. " lets geet dis, hiccup, show on de woad!" Josef looked at me. I put my hands up in surrender. "Don't look at me, i don't even know we're he got that." Josef sighed, and took Zach by the arm, leading him to the car. "come on, Zach," he said in a soft voice. "lets get you to the car so you can sleep this off." Josef pushed him in the car and did up his seatbelt. "But i wanna, I wanna....." Zach slumped in his chair, fast asleep. I looked at Josef. "well, no use sticking around here any longer. lets go." I hopped into the passenger seat, (Zach was taking up the whole back seat) and looked at Josef when he got in. He turned to me, and I smiled.
"So, how fast can this thing go?"

By the time we reached our destination, the sum was going down. Yes, you heard me right. Down. we had been driving for a whole day, only stopping twice for bathroom breaks and snacks. So it was no surprise that when the car finally stopped i ran for the first bush i saw. As i emptied my tank, Josef surveyed our target. When I was done, i walked over to him, zipping up my zipper. "That is our target? Are you sure it's no something that looks a teensy bit better? like a hole in the ground?" We were looking at a shack, no bigger than our car, with half its roof torn off. "That's it" he replied, looking at it. "well, i guess we gotta go see what's inside! Maybe we will find a pot of gold! or a million bucks!"like you might have already guessed, i was being sarcastic. " shut up. This is the place. Trust me." we starts walking to the shack, me close behind. before we get two feet though, a Gatling gun rises up out of the part of the roof that's been 'ripped' off. Just as suddenly, a voice blasts out around us. "DONT COME ANY CLOSER. LEAVE WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE." I step back a couple steps in shock. "Who are you? We aren't going to leave without answers!" I yell back at the shack. The voice comes back, only quieter, so it just sounds like someone talking. "Well, it looks like your not going to leave now, is it? Well, Prepare to face the price. Welcome, to No-Were." The ground behind Josef and me shakes, and we turn around, and we just have enough time to see Zach pounding on the window, before the ground opens up and the car plummets into the chasm.
