What is it to love?
Is it a dazzling smile at one’s first meeting
A flirtatious compliment at the bar
Or perhaps the lustful stare under the stars
Can loved be defined by a movement, words, or stare
So simple yet so meaningful
Maybe that is the problem with love
Or perhaps with us
Love is so easily shouted
By you and I
Him and her
It is not easily doubted
We embrace it as if our love has one honest face
But is love meant to be easy?
Should we not fight for it and hold it tight
Should we not feel it deeply rather than fleetly
Should its existence only be minor
What is love, I do not know
For it is too great to speak in words
Or show in actions
I cannot say what is
Or how you will know to find it
For when you do
You will just know
