"Alright, Mrs. Jauregui, I'm going to need you to tell me exactly what happened on the day of the murder." I said lightly as I leaned slightly over the table.
"Okay," she nodded, "I was in the shower when my girlfriend came home from work." Lauren said while fiddling with her fingers.
"I see." I said while taking out a notebook to write down what Lauren was saying. "Please continue, Ms. Jauregui."
"I called out her name while I was in the shower," a slight blush crept onto her face.
I raised my eyebrow in curiosity, "And why would you call her name while you were in the shower?"
"I was wondering if she would want to join me," Lauren said shyly. A smile made its way onto my face before she quickly changed the subject, "anyway, Regan didn't respond and I just assumed that she didn't hear me. I didn't think anything of it but then I heard a loud bang." Lauren paused and allowed me to scribble down a few notes. "I finished showering and walked to our living room to look for her and make sure she was okay." I watched as her head fell slightly. "When I reached the living room, Regan was lying face down on the ground."
I could tell that she was having a hard time talking about her dead girlfriend, "What did you do after you saw your girlfriend like that?"
"I thought that she was playing around so I shook her body. But she wasn't. I checked if she was breathing and noticed the pool blood coming from her body." Lauren looked to Taylor who nodded in support. "I was shocked."
"What did you do when you realized that Regan was..." I trailed off, not wanting to make Lauren any more emotional than she already was.
"I didn't know what to do. I kept trying to check her pulse. But then I saw the gun lying next to her."
"Your gun?" I asked while jotting down a few notes.
"It was Regan's." Lauren corrected, "Regan wanted to make sure that we were safe." I nodded, scratching out my previous note.
"Did you touch the gun?"
"I have before, but not on that day. When I saw the gun, I immediately heard banging on my door."
"Did you know who was at the door?"
"It was the police," Lauren said, "someone called the police and they took me. I was so confused. I kept asking them what was going on."
"Is there anything else you said to the police?" Lauren shook her head.
"Alright," I closed my notebook and placed my hand on Lauren's, "thank you for the information, Lauren."
"No, thank you Camila." I loved the way my named sounded when she said it.
"Don't thank me yet," I laughed. "I still haven't won the case."
"I know, but I trust you." Lauren smiled and gripped my hand. "I'm glad that Taylor brought you here."
"Yeah, I'm glad she brought me too." I returned the smile.

"ARE YOU CRAZY GIRL?" Normani, one of my closest friends yelled.
"Mani, please keep your voice down." I rubbed my eyebrow in an attempt to get rid of my headache. "To answer your question, no. I am not crazy."
"Yes you are," she shook her head. "Her prints were on the murder weapon Mila!"
"And your point is?" I reviewed my notes from earlier today.
"Its an open and close case. There is no way you will be able to win this." Normani looked over my desk to look at my notes. "You have to drop the case."
"And why should I do that?" I snapped.
"Do you really want to have your first loss be an open and close case?" She sighed. "You're a smart girl, Mila, you should just drop it."
"I can't just drop the case Normani."
"Yes you can, go back there and tell her that you can't do the case." She insisted.
"No. I won't. I already agreed to take it. Lauren's counting on me to help her." I sat back in my chair.
"Lauren? Don't you mean the green eyed killer?"
"Don't call her that, Mani. You and I both know that everyone is innocent until proven guilty."
"You and I both know that she did kill her girlfriend. If she didn't then explain how her prints got onto the gun."
"It was Regan's gun, Lauren has touched the gun before. Perhaps that's how they got there." I said calmly.
"Camila," Normani said with a stern tone, "why can't you just admit that you will probably lose this case?"
"I won't lose." I have to win. Not just to save my name, but to help Lauren, too.
"You like her, don't you?" Normani said in realization. I stayed quite and directed my attention to something else on my desk. "Oh my god. Camila! She just got out of a relationship."
"I know." I twirled a strand of my hair. "I can't help it, have you seen her?!"
"Jesus, Mila. Is that really the only reason why you're doing this?" A chuckle escaped her lips. "Because you think she's hot?"
"Well she is." I stated simply.
"Karla Camila Cabello, are you really going to risk your career for a girl?"
"And her looks aren't the only reason why I can't drop this case," I started, "Austin is the Monreal's lawyer and he will not stop talking about it if I drop a case against him." Normani nodded. "Besides, how will I be risking my career if I'm going to win?" I smirked and winked at her. "By the way, she's not just any other girl. She's Lauren Jauregui."
Normani shook her head. "Its official. You are hopeless."
