"Sofia, what have you done?!" I ask in horror.
Currently over twenty policemen, and women are huddled together in the lobby of our hotel building, and they are all here for me. How Embarrassing.
"Well... You just disappeared for hours on end! And you wouldn't answer my texts, or phone calls for that matter. What was I supposed to think? I thought you were kidnapped!" She exclaims, clearly panicking. It's only then that I take a good look at her. Her brown hair falls limply by her shoulders, her usually bright eyes red rimmed and drawn with worry. I haven't been gone for that long have I? But not answering my phone and giving indignation on where I was today was a dick move. Oh gosh what have I done?
Sighing, I pull Sofia into my arms again. Rubbing her back, soothing her. "Oh jeez, I'm Sorry, Sofia I don't know what came over me. I should have called-"
"Damn right you should have!" She cuts me off.
I chuckle, "I should have, but listen Sofia." I pull her out of my arms and hold her arms length away by her shoulders. Her eyes are glassy and I suddenly feel a wave of guilt wash over me. "You're not going to believe what happened today!" I say, trying to cheer her up.
She sniffles a little bit and paws at her eyes, "What happened? And this better be good!" She threatens.
It is then that I pause, should I tell her of my meetings with Tom Hiddleston? She will suring boil over with envy. How will I explain how I act while in contact with him without her thinking that I'm a total freak?
"Well, I-I-" I stammer, struggling to muster up a believable excuse to feed to Sofia. Only to be cut off again by her gasp. I look up to find her frozen, looking over my shoulder in wonder and amazement. I knew who she was looking at before I turned around, I felt his eyes on my back as he strides towards us. I could sense Sofia about implode before I felt a hand clamp down on my shoulder and I looked up into the blue eyes of the very man who bid me good night just a few minutes earlier.
"Excuse me," Tom interjects, "But is everything alright here Aurora?" His hand distractedly slides down from my shoulder to my waist, back up to my shoulder again. Leaving a trail of sparks in it's wake.
Sofia's face flushes red with a blush as she turns to me with a look of pure amazement. "Aurora?" She squeaks out.
"Uhh, yes! Um as I was saying Sofia, something interesting happened to me today, and yes Tom, everything is alright, just a bit of a misunderstanding, nothing to see here." I ramble on quickly, my gut filling with fear. If I or Sofia say one wrong thing, the whole operation could be blown. Tom would find out that I knew who he was all along and think I'm a freak. It would be a disaster!
Just when I saw Sofia start to open her big mouth, no doubt to ask unneeded questions, a police officer cuts into our group through Tom and I, to face her.
"Sorry miss," he gestures toward me with his hands, "Is this the girl you filed as missing?"
I aimed a heated glare at Sofia as her face turned to one of embarrassment. "Oh! Yes, thank you for coming but you're not needed anymore because as you can see," She reaches over and pats me on the arm, "I've got her right here. Thank you." She grins up at the chubby police officer, trying her best to convey that all is right with the world and that they should go on their merry way.
Unfortunately for all of us, the officer wasn't too pleased with her words, as he gazed down at her with a look of astonishment. "Miss, we have twenty seven armed police officers interrogating everybody in this hotel, ready to catch a kidnapper," he informs us through clenched teeth. "And you tell us that she's just..." He made a wide gesture with his arms, "Blew through the door, and now that she's back we could go on our merry way?" He was starting to yell now and attracting the attention of other people around the lobby.
