No sooner had he arrived in the familiar purple space that Sam let his rage out. He wanted to scream, to hit, he had held back his negative emotions for too long, during the time of that incident. He let out a hoarse cry, then called his host.

- SALIGIA! .... SALIGIA !!!!

- I'm here, Samuel,- said the person behind him calmly.

The big butterfly was flying as usual, but this time it looked even more mauve than the room.

- Did Julian terminate the contract ?! But WHY ?! GOD, I LEFT HIM TO GO AND GET SOME HELP!

- Perhaps he has gained more confidence in his mother, and therefore no longer needs an imaginary Friend? Isn't it the point of-

- No !!- Sam cried, continuing to pace. - He needs me.

- Can't the mother take care of her son properly?- Saligia asked.

- Yes of course she can, but ...

- Did you not help her to solve her various money problems which prevented her from taking care of Julian fully? As well as the worries at the child's school? And now his father will surely have at least one removal measure... Haven't you sorted out all of this family's issues?

-... Maybe,- Sam whispered.

He felt a huge weight on his chest. He hadn't done everything to get fired like almost every other time, no, he had just, for once, done whatever it took so that little Animus had no more problems. But his heart was aching, he felt like he couldn't breathe properly.

- No... Julian still needs me...- he whispered almost inaudibly.

- Is he the one who needs you.... or is it you who needs him?- Saligia asked.

Sam fell silent. He didn't know if his urge to get back to Julian wasn't purely selfish. Selfishness, the sin of Pride to which he was however accustomed.

- Samuel, listen,- Saligia explained, -it's true that Julian doesn't see you anymore, but I haven't received an end of contract...

Sam gave Saligia a questioning look as he continued its explanations.

- It seems that this family still requires your presence but ...

- My presence ? While no one can see me?- he asked.

- I don't know anything more actually. Don't you want to go back there?

- Yes of course, i do,- Sam replied immediately.

His quick response surprised himself. He had never been attached to anyone in his life... well... except... her.

"Who are you?

'Cause you're not the girl I fell in love with, baby "went the song in his head.

He chased that old demon out of his mind and held onto the present. He turned back to the golden hole, his exit door to the world. He hesitated for a moment. After all, if Julian had forgotten about him, it was because he didn't need him anymore. Feeling rejected once, during his short life, was enough for him. This was partly why he made a point of not becoming attached to his Animus. Not letting anyone get into his heart, that was his credo. Love... the worst of sins. However, the contract was not finished, so he had to go back. He took a deep breath and jumped into the hole to reconnect with reality.

He landed directly in Julian's room. Rosalie was next to the little boy, who just got in bed. It must have been past midnight. Julian looked exhausted. She stroked his forehead, talking to him calmly.
