Later that afternoon I gave Neymar’s parents a ring. I waited for a few moments until the other line had picked up.

“Olá?” I heard.

“Olá Neymar Pai, É (Y/N). Por favor, posso falar com Júnior?” I asked to speak to Neymar.

“Sim, Sim!”

The phone got put down and seconds later back up again.

“Hey.”
I heard his pure voice say. I was eager to make up with him and plan to do some thing with us two and Oscar.

“Heya,” I quietly said back. “So, are you ok now? Do you remember what happened at the dinner party?” I spoke with caution.

“Yeah, and yeah,” He replied, giving no emotion. “Sorry for acting stupid, I guess. I didn’t mean to be melodramatic like you said. I was just as overwhelmed as you was,”

I closed my eyes and exhaled. “It’s all okay, Ney. I’m so sorry about the phone, too. Oscar’s buying you a new one today.” I said feeling a bit more joyace.

“Really? I don’t have a problem buying my o-”

“Ney, it’s covered.” I cut him off.

There was a pause, until,

“Glad to have you and Oscar,” Which put a bright smile on my face.

“Thanks. We’re blessed to have you. So, is everything ok between us now, or?” I started to giggle. I couldn’t even help it.

“Well— weren't you also mad about my son and girlfriend?” he asked with pure curiosity.

...I wish he hadn’t asked... I wish I never saw... “Uhm. Yeaaah. I’m sorry about that. I felt h-h-heart broken..” I stuttered.

“Why?” he asked in curiosity again.

I pursed my lips tightly, I didn’t want my secret to slip out but deep down my gut told me that it was about time that I just spill it all out and get it over and done with. I desperately didn’t want him to not feel the same way. I might weep for days.
I heard Neymar sigh.

“(Y/N)?”

—I totally forgot for a moment that I was speaking to him.

“OH, OH, s-so sorry! Uhm, nothing happened...?” I nervously said, cutting off from my thoughts. “—Wait, was your question?” I blinked, facepalming msyself.

“...I asked why you were ‘heartbroken’ about me having a son and girlfriend.” He surprisingly didn’t seem annoyed. But yet he was serious.

“Oh, yeah, sorry.”

I sigh and carry on. “Well, I was heartbroken... because, I always had serious feelings for you, and I don’t mean the really close friend feelings, like as in— as in more than that..” I stated. “Okay, I know I’m bad at saying all this, but ever since I was just seven years old I began to like you a lot. Each year my feelings grew stronger and became more literal. So I’m sad that you’ve found someone else when my eyes only saw you all this time.” The weight on my shoulders lifted. Now I waited for a reply.

“Oh.”

I was expecting to hear more out of him. Finally he began to speak again after a moment.

“You will always be held in a special place within my heart, as you’ve stuck with me since we were only little. In anything and everything you will be first. I do love Bruna, but trust me when I say this, it took me a very long while for me to get over you.”

I was touched... and shocked. So he once felt the same way too? I simply sighed. I had no idea where my words had escaped to.

“So, wanna go to the Beach House?” He suggested, changing the subject.

“Yeah, I guess so! When?” A small smile curled on my lips.

“Tomorrow, if that’s fine?”

“Should be fine with me. I’ll check with my parents, though, and I have no idea about Oscar, but we can message him later on.”

Excitement began to fill my stomach, relieving the devastation I was feeling just earlier. “And don’t forget to add my number in your contacts once you receive your knew phone.” I added.

“Of course. Now I can’t wait!” he exclaimed like a little child.

“Can’t wait.” I agreed, giggling. “Obrigado.” I finished.

“Ciao ciao.” he hung up.

I gently chucked the phone onto my bed. I raced down stairs, grinning from ear-to-ear.
