You and Corpse are 12 at the start

Y/N had left for school a little earlier than she normally would, therefor leaving her best friend Corpse, a nickname she had picked for the curly haired boy after he looked like he was going to a funeral everyday from how much black he wore, to walk by himself to the building. Hardly anyone was there in the halls when she arrived, so she wandered around looking for something to do.

A few would look her way when she would passed, probably wondering where her sidekick was. Just as she started to consider going outside to wait for Corpse, she noticed a familiar figure at the end of the hall, Marie.

She hadn't spoken to Marie after the girl had freaked out about her being friends with Corpse, saying that he was a freak, but Y/N felt like the two needed to make up after the fight. Marie had noticed Y/N and turned on her heel the complete different direction, luckily Y/N was a fast runner so it was easy to keep up with her.

The blonde had gasped when Y/N had pulled her arm into an empty classroom.
"What the ever loving fuck are you doing Y/N?! Are you trying to give me a heartattack?!" Y/N had sighed quietly, and glanced to make sure no one was listening.

"No, look I just want us to be friends again," Y/N confessed as Marie smiled to herself.

"I suppose if you really want to," Marie smirked, "say sorry."

Y/N only laughed, "I'll never say sorry to anybody. Ever."

Meanwhile, Corpse had been looking around the front of the school for Y/N to see if she was waiting for him but nope, she wasn't in sight so he walked briskly into the building. Everyone had been ignoring him or avoiding him so that in truth, was a good start to his day.

Without any warning however, Corpse had been involuntary falling forward, someone had been running into him at full force, that someone being his best friend (or rather only friend) Y/N L/N. She had helped him back up with a sheepish smile that made Corpse scowl.
"Nice to see you too," he muttered as she grinned at him. The bell had rung above their heads indicating that the two had to split up for their class, "don't go anywhere after lunch, I need to tell you something important."

------

Y/N hurried from her science class to the dining hall, anxious to hear what Corpse's news was. She found him waiting at the table they normally sat at, tapping his fingers on the plastic wood surface. He raised his head when he noticed Y/N coming and motioned her to come sit next to him.

"What took you?"

Y/N paused for a breath holding one finger up, "sorry-our-teacher-wouldn't-let-us-out. Had-to-leg-it-all-the-way-here."

Corpse laughed, "didn't know that would make you this out of breath."

Y/N shot him a glare as she sat down at the table, her plastic walmart bag that she used to carry her lunch sitting beside her, "so anyways, leaving out my physical health, what did you need to tell me?"

He inhaled deeply, "well, it is very important. The most important-"

"Just hurry up and spit it out before I skin you alive."

"I was about to but you interrupted me!" Y/N shrugged at Corpse.

"So?"

Corpse fake punched her shoulder, "I was gonna say that I've decided to drop out to focus on other things."

Silence...

"Y/N? Isn't this good news?"

Silence...

"Y/N are you okay? Did I shock you to death?" Y/N shook her head in disbelief finally getting out of her daze.

"What did your mum and dad say?" Corpse tapped his nose, not giving her an answer.

"That's not important. What's important is that I'm leaving."

Y/N dropped her cutlery onto the floor, it hitting the ground with a clang catching a lot of people in the dining hall off guard as they all turned their attention to the two. Y/N standing with her jaw open and Corpse being confused.

"What?" Y/N asked.

Corpse rolled his eyes rubbing his face with his hand, his anxiety acting up at everyone's eyes being on him, "you heard what I said. I'm leaving. I'm gonna go do great things Y/N! Isn't it amazing?" Corpse's eyes were sparkling, his hands making wild gestures.

Y/N nodded, giving out a forced smile. This was the same attitude her dad had before he went out the door to go be with another woman.
"That's great. Seriously, it is amazing." Corpse gave a smile and began to list all the things he planned to do. In all honesty though, Y/N was struggling. Corpse was her best friend, the person she could confine it after another fight with her mum or just feel important. But now, Corpse was leaving. As in actually moving on. Shit.

"Are you sure you're okay Y/N?" He asked nervously.

"I'm fine-" Y/N smiled flicking his nose, "but don't you dare forget about me."

Corpse smirked, "why? What could you possibly do?"

Y/N had pondered for a second before answering, "I could kill you." She suggested.

"Not if I kill you first," Corpse countered almost immediately. Y/N sighed dramatically and leaned towards him.

"Then I'd come back and haunt your ass."
