The Warrior Within: A Kit In Need

                           PROLOGUE

The little kitten felt wrapped in a never-ending warmth. His siblings were kicking and pushing their way to their mothers warm milk. Seven white kittens drank continiously, while one gray kitten, the smallest of them all, was held aback. His mother would not accept him. Whenever he tried to crawl through the mess of kits, he was flung back furociously by his mother. What stopped him from fighting back, he had an inward bent paw, and his mother saw nothing else in him but weakness, and the Clan cannot have weakness. She dragged her kits one by one into the thick underbrush, where their loud mewling was barely audible, and the soft patter of the growing drizzle of rain soon washed away their very evidence of existence. She took the littlest deformed kitten by the scruff of its neck, and carried it off, away from the nest. She took him to the side of the Thunderpath, where he would for sure be eaten by a Monster be sunhigh. She didn't need him. She didn't need weakness.
