CHAPTER 22: THE BATTLE

Jaehyun was called by the upper division but it wasn't just simple call. They will interrogate him because it's like the vampires broke their promise not to cause any chaos that will make the three of them, angels, demons and vampire to fight again. Of course Taeyong's family have to be there, after all they're in higher ranking and they're high profiles. Two males standing beside him as he quietly walked to the hallway. Vampires may live for very long time and may live for thousand years but they can be killed and if this proven that he manipulated Taeyong and he's the cause of the war they have to kill him for it's the payment for breaking what their ancestors made up with the other creatures. He feel ashamed for tainting their family's name and for being disgrace but can you blame a man who just fell in love? It was the blood who drawn him closer to Taeyong and also his beauty but he didn't know this will happen. All his confidence popped like a bubble and he feels like he is nothing but a useless vampire living under a very powerful surname.

"Jaehyun" He stood there with his chin up.

The family of Lee Taeyong was there, sitting. Jaehyun couldn't help but to feel nervous, seeing Taeyong's brothers beside their parents who has a worried face written all over their faces.

"Do you know where he is?" Jaehyun was afraid to respond but he shook his head with respect to Taeyong's mother who asked him.

She started to cry to his husband's arms, feeling scared for their boy. Her husband comforted her, whispering soft encouraging words to calm her.

Jaehyun thought that he might die any moment and his family couldn't do anything about it. When he heard what Jungwoo did, he didn't get mad at him. There's no time for it when the life of every innocent human beings are in the palm of the demons who are lurking around and sucking their souls to get stronger. Even if he die right now, the problem won't be solve unless Taeyong decides. He wanted to live with him but for all of this things to stop, he must give him up to his parents and let him decide.

"Once you tainted an angel, they will be no longer an angel and if you do, the punishment of it is your life, you know that right?" Siwon spoke with a blank face. "Taeyong was chosen to be the next head, he was the definition of perfection but you took that away from him."

"If the accusations were proven to be truth, you know what will happen? Aside from you getting killed, Taeyong will be thrown away."

"I thought this matter was taught to all of you, didn't Changmin tell you the agreement?"

They did but Jaehyun thought he will never been in a situation that even him, who has ability to read minds will be fooled.

"Can I ask a question?" He hated that he never knew about Taeyong. That these things weren't even inside his head.

"Does Taeyong knows what kind of creature he is?"

"No, not until this happened, I believe."

"Why did you hide it even from him?"

"You have no rights to ask me about that, Jung Jaehyun"

"No, Sir. I have rights to know because if I would know that he is an angel I will never crossed the borderlines"

Siwon thought that Jaehyun was right and he couldn't even answer the young man. Partly it was their fault and he's just throwing the blame to Jaehyun.

"See? You can't answer Sir because you know that you guys are also at fault! If I would known, I'll just let my desire kill me and never touch him. Never bring this war between the three of us." Tears threaten to fall from his eyes. He's mad, it's obvious on how his voice were shaking while he was speaking. They all fucked up, the heavy burden as the heir was also drowning Jaehyun, the shame he thought he brought to his family was the one main reason why he is sinking right now.

While thoughts are running inside his head, he still stand firmly, trying to control his tears and not to cry in front of everyone.

"If you're going to kill me, then kill me. I deserve it after using your brother for my own desire."

"Did you ever love my brother, Jung Jaehyun?"

"I... never—"

The doors where pushed with a strong force, revealing Doyoung with his two men beside him and Taeyong.

"TAEYONG!" Jaehyun shouted as soon as he saw Taeyong but the latter didn't respond, he was just standing behind Doyoung, avoiding the gaze of Jaehyun and his family.

"Don't attack me and my friends! I am here to return Taeyong...if he wishes to" Doyoung said, his hands up on the air as if he's giving himself up to them.

"Go on Taeyong, you choose. We already talk about it, right baby?"

"You— don't you fucking call him that, Doyoung!"

"I heard it all.." He bit his lower lip before looking at his family. "Why did you all hide this from me? All this time I thought I was a human! I just don't get it why you hid it from me when we could have been coming up of any plans to avoid this, right? I feel betrayed. After all you made me believed on a lie and make myself fool."

"Siwon hyung...can we all just make these things stop?"

Before Siwon could speak, demons started to attack everyone inside the hall. The long waited battle happened in just the blink of an eye. The friend that Siwon and Donghae talking to was also the one commanding the demons to fight.

While everyone else charging, the three of them just stood in the middle of the fight. Taeyong watched the scene in horror, looking at Doyoung who's just smiling. Jungwoo's words were ringing inside his head. It pains him and all he could do was to scream.

"Taeyong—"

"I don't belong to you anymore, Jaehyun."
