Percy's POV...

'Wake up, Percy Jackson.'

I gasped and shot up. My heart was beating against my chest so hard I wouldn't be surprised if it exploded out. I felt like I have been running for miles.

I looked around the room, which was only lit by the candles. There was a man with platinum blonde hair; his strange blue eyes were looking at me serenely. As if he had all the time in the world. As if nothing weird has happened. And there was a young woman by his side, whose long red hair seemed to catch the light every time it followed, even though there was no wind in the room. Her honey brown eyes held the same calmness as the man.

I gulped on air. I decided to get straight to the point. No need to stall. If I am to be hit with bad news, I deserve that.

'I ... died,' but it came out more as a question than a statement.

'Yes,' the man replied. His voice was calm. He sounded like we were discussing the weather.

Even though I should have expected it; that stung. But of course, I remember those... fields with endless grass and the hills, the lakes and endless sky. It was all so peaceful, I felt like I could stay there forever. And before you ask it; no, I am not talking about Camp Half-Blood.

'Who are you?'

'Why don't you ask that to yourself?' the woman asked. 'Who are you?'

I frowned. 'I am...', I hesitated as I understood her words, 'I am not what I used to be.'

'Exactly,' the man said. 'I think the correct question would be; what are we?'

'We?'

'You may choose to ignore it, but you are like us now.'

I tried calm down my breathing and looked out of the window, towards empty darkness. Even though I anticipated the answer; I asked the question anyways, 'So... what are we?'
