Ace of Spades

Chapter 2.

The sound of footsteps accompanied by knocking entered the room, "Miss Rouqin? I am here to help you change"  

"Return" in a single command the young demon disappeared and the suppressing aura of the child turned to a weak helpless one.

The door was pushed open slightly and the soft voiced maid entered, she smiled at the hazy-eyed child and helped her to the into a rose petaled bath. When it came to changing cloths she took them from the maid's hands and smiled. 

"I'll do it myself" the child whispered stunning the maid.

"Young miss!" she gasped turning to look at the child who had been mute since the day she entered the duke household. Her expression between shock, amazement and concern.

"Thank-you Sofia, you may go now. Oh, I feel quite hungry would you mind bringing something sweet? " soft smile and calm eyes of the child met the stunned ones of her maid, making the latter one subconsciously follow the command before she could ask anything .

The maid gave a nodded and gave a small bow "Then I'll get some sweet corn soup for young miss"  

As soon as the door closed Ren reappeared behind the child who sat infront of the dressing mirror admiring her chubby face. 

"Ren, can you turn to your complete human disguise?"

The young demon looked at his master with slight moist eyes, "No master, I'm still incompetent to fulfill your wish, I don't have enough spare energy. Please punish me master"

The little girl's eyebrow twitched as she controlled the urge to stuff his mouth. Is he a masochistic? 

"Well ignore that issue for now, later we'll have to find a way to increase your power. Right now I guess we can manage for a while without subordinate appearing beside me. You don't need to appear in public eye."

"Yes master!" a happy smile formed on his face. - a puppy dog.

Is he really Renny's son?  How does the oppressing ferocious  cold-hearted demon looks like a puppy wagging his tail? 

She  sighed -but the expression is some what similar............

"Hmm..... This place indeed is much more peaceful than Kingdom of Harvern" she sighed, "That pathetic brainwashed princess, I can't imagine I called that old pervert 'father' " she sighed with a cold gleam in her eyes. 

"Where are we now ?" she asked glancing at Ren's red eyes through the mirror. 

He looked down and obediently informed her of their current location. Kingdom Chovens, north east of the Kingdom Harvens. Second largest amongst  the five great kingdoms of this continent. 

She chuckled with a evil smile on her face "Hm.... Interesting. I wonder what it would be like to return a surprise to my previous 'father'"  her eyebrows furrowed slightly "That reminds me the current father of this body is also an man of same demure and so is his second wife."

She sighed looking a bit helpless, "Do I always need to have father-issues? Those pathetic evil-minded ba-............"

Even Ren looked a bit flushed looking at the child spouting all the worldly curses in her cute sweet voice to the two old 'fathers' she had. He couldn't compare this young girl to the graceful queen who usually sat on the spine throne of darkness with a cold smile on her seductive face. 

Did mother mean this when she said that the real demon queen is not the ice beauty she appears? 

Peerless unmatched beauty, sharp and graceful queen who rejected the proposal of countless mortals, immortals, gods and demons.

All he could see a cute little child furrowing her eyebrows and pouting, blabbering how bad meanies those two men were........ 

He blinked twice- My lady !  Did you forget? You once ordered to torture a man in hell flames for preparing the wrong breakfast!

But fortunately he was cautious enough not to speak it out loud and disturb the pouty little queen as she sadly blabbered about the 'injustice' of the world.  

 Two sighed helplessly as the perfect image of the graceful master and powerful cold-hearted subordinate  was destroyed in their minds.

-a teary little puppy......slightly masochistic ?

-a cute little blabbering childish queen.........

That was the first impression the future general of the largest army had after meeting his master.
