May 2nd 1998, to most this seemed like just another day. For wizards and witches alike it was the most trying twenty four hours of their lives. The battle of Hogwarts was full of losses for everyone. Although the battle ended in their favour, it wouldn't be without heavy hearts. Amelia could remember the moment she walked into the great hall to assist Harry Potter in defeating the dark lord. She was huddled between Fred and George Weasley towering over her, the twins grinning from ear to ear seeing this more as an adventure than anything else.
But Amelia didn't quite see it like that. While she was a mother of one already, she was only a few weeks pregnant now, her boyfriend Fred unaware of the news he would receive in the middle of a battle today. The Order stood tall, everyone ready for the possible idea of not making it back home - but they showed nothing but confidence as they did so. "Thought you could use some help chosen one." Amelia greeted the younger boy, walking up to him and wrapping him up in her arms. "Amelia. What are you all doing here? How did you know?" Harry asked, making the woman roll her eyes. "You poor stupid boy. You don't think we'd leave you alone now after all these years do you?" She replied before everyone got straight to work in protecting the school.
The twins, along with Amelia were stationed up in a tower. Close enough to the ground to see everything that was going on, but high enough up that hopefully oncoming death eaters wouldn't suspect they were there. As if on queue everyone raised their wands, chanting a spell to conjure a barrier around the school. Amelia knew it wasn't enough to stop the Dark Lord, but hopefully it would be enough to hold them back for a little longer. "You two stay safe okay? I need you two alive." Amelia told, turning to the two men behind her. Fred and George both sent her tiny smiles and nodded their heads. "Of course love, we'd never leave you." Fred said quietly, bringing the shorter girl into his arms and pressing his lips to the top of her head.
The twins shared a knowing look. A look that said no matter what, if it came down to Fred and Amelia - Amelia goes home to their daughter at home. Little Blue Weasley, waiting back home at the burrow with a trusted family friend Xenophilius Lovegood. Although he was a little off his rocker, it was decided he would stay behind with Teddy Lupin and Blue to keep them safe. Fred knew, that no matter what Blue would need her mother at the end of the day. The fiery little two year old was the light of their lives, only being 18 when she was born and just about to leave hogwarts. When finding out she was with child, Amelia doubled up on classes to finish her schooling early, with just enough time to settle down and rest before her child was born. Dumbledore and Mcgonagall kept the secret of the girl's time turning from Umbridge during her last year.
Fred loved seeing Amelia walking around with her baby bump, always silently praying that they would get blessed with twins just like he was. But alas, his prayers were not answered, but he was gifted with the most amazing thing in his life - his little girl. Fred was so close to his daughter. When she was first born he made it a habit to fall asleep with her laying on his chest as they fell asleep on the couch in front of a roaring fire. As she got older the habit never died down, sometimes Amelia would wake up in the middle of the night to Fred sneaking under the covers whispering, "We fell asleep on the couch again. She's in bed now." which would never fail to make her smile slightly and nod her head.
The battle was well on it's way by now. Percy Weasley now joining the three on the tower, death eaters relentlessly throwing hexes and jinxes their way. Amelia, a bright witch who had excelled in deflecting spells through her years at Hogwarts was quick to throw spells back at their casters. It wasn't until Amelia had heard the words that distracted her from what was going on slightly. "Hello Minister!" It was Percy, as he sent a jinx towards the death eater in front of them. George, Ameila and Fred all sending stunning spells directly after Percy's jinx. "Did I mention i'm resigning?" Percy called out.
"You're joking Perce!" Fred exclaimed with a joke, a slight pride twinkling in his eyes as he heard his older brothers words. By now, the death eater was on the ground, twitching in pain and discomfort. "You actually are joking Perce... i don't think i've heard you joke since -" the booming sound of an explosion was heard from behind the group on the tower, and a death eater stood behind Fred, with the wand raised.
Fred crumbled to the ground, George following behind him, begging him to stay awake. Rage filled Amelia, the love of her life, now sat against the side of the tower hanging onto life with next to nothing left in him. Before she could process what she was saying, Amelia raised her wand and looked at Augustus Rookwood and screamed, "Avada Kedavra!" The death eater flew backwards, instantly dead before Amelia dropped to her knees before Fred.
"Fred! Fred come on darling it's okay!" the woman cried, grabbing his face making him look into her eyes. "Did I ever tell you today, how beautiful you are?" Fred croaked out, reaching out to brush his fingers along his girlfriend's dirt covered cheek. Amelia let out a pained laugh and nodded her head. "Every day darling." She replied, feeling Fred's hand fall from her cheek, and watched as he closed his eyes.
"No! No no no no!" she screamed, being pulled away and into a pair of arms - George. "He wanted it to end this way," George sobbed.
"He said as long as you survived."
