Chapter 1 : Welcome to London
~<~<~<~<<~>>~>~>~>~"Take it."
"No you take it."
"Please take it?"
"Stop! You always do this. No matter what you say I'm not taking it."
"God! Just take the damn suitcase, nothing's going to happen to you!"
Some times Evelyn, my best friend, could be a real pain in the ass. Finally after a long flight of kids kicking my backseat and a fat guy snoring on my shoulder, you'd think she'd have sympathy on poor Ol' me and carry the damn thing but apparently not.
Ever since I was little, Evelyn and I have been the best of friends. When we got to middle school we decided we were going to attend the same university. London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA). Being best friends and both being talented? Total cliche? I know, right? There was just something about singing that made my heart beat and my adrenaline boost. It was like I lived for the feeling. Evelyn, however, loved to dance. The girl couldn't sit for two minutes without shaking her head and tapping those feet. She always told me that what I felt for singing, she felt for dancing.
We graduated last spring and decided to get to it because we absolutely couldn't wait to dorm with each other. Omg! So much fun! Note sarcasm. Don't get me wrong, I love Evelyn but I also know us. We always get into arguments. Always. Like this one for example.
"I had it for the first half of the ride. It's your turn Olivia.", Evelyn replied dropping the suitcase at my feet.
Some people were starting to look over at us and even though I hated attention, Eve hated it more. Especially if I was embarrassing her by acting like a big baby; it looked ugly on her dark image.
Pushing the suitcase her way, I grunted, "I don't remember agreeing to that. Plus I booked the ticket and everything, the least you could do is take it." Yah I know, poor excuse but it was the best I could come up with on a caffeine-less Monday.
"Big deal you know your way around a computer, ooooh impressive." She waved her hands in the air kicking the damn thing back. More stares and now some were muttering.
I sighed tired of talking but one more tactic wouldn't hurt. Opening my eyes as wide as I could and pouting my lips into the saddest frown, I made my special puppy dog face that I perfected over the years. I turned towards her using the nickname she hated and didn't let me use in public, "Evey, please? I'm so tired from the most awful flight I've ever taken in my whole life. Please? Have mercy on me just this once."
She took one look at me and covered her eyes immediately. "Olive, please not the eyes. I don't want to.", she whined. I turned it up a notch by tearing up and wobbling my chin. "Eveyyyy..." I whined. This time almost everyone was eyeballing us and muttering. Some were even pointing fingers.
