Olivia's POV

I rolled my shoulders completely exhausted after the last batch of cupcakes. I looked at the time, there was half an hour left until closing. Speaking of closing time, there was still one order left. Danielle headed out an hour ago and relied on me to lock up and take care of any late customers. It's officially been two weeks since Evelyn and I have moved in, and true to her word, Dani has let us stay here for a lower price. I've come to like her a lot and apparently she's smitten with the both of us. I finally got to meet the guy Eve was talking about. Chris, her running buddy, and she was right he was cute but in a friend kind of way.

I sighed and checked the time again, either someone was playing me with that cupcake order or they were seriously considering not coming at all. Having nothing to do, I decided to clean up. I wiped down the breakfast bar and tables. After stacking the chairs, I mopped the floors and put everything away. Just as I was getting ready to close up, I heard the tinkling of bells. Looks like someone decided to show up for there order...after I placed it in the fridge. Thanks buddy.

I turned to see a tall, broad shouldered guy around my age, maybe older, walk in. He had blond hair, buzz cut style, and the clearest blue eyes I had ever seen. I gasped mentally, wow he's handsome.

"I'm here for the O'Connor's order?" Buzz cut smiled. Straight white teeth stared back at me. His accent though, sigh...

"Oh-yeah. Right." I stuttered getting back to reality. "I'll just go get it from back there." I pointed dumbly towards the kitchen. Ugh. I'm such an idiot, and I'm pretty sure he thought I was too since I could see him biting back a grin. Stumbling to the back, I quickly grabbed the box and headed back to the front.

"Here." I shoved it in his hands and stuck my right hand out. "That'll be 15.50."

"Someone's in a rush." He raised an eyebrow. "Got a date, or something?"

"What!? No!" I replied, quite flustered at the mention of a date. Olivia Maddison would be the last person on earth to go on a date. She was too clumsy and Newton's law of balance just didn't apply to her.

He smiled teasingly and raised his right hand backing away slightly. "Woah there pumpkin, I was just messing with you." Buzz cut chuckled.

I blushed horribly muttering, "Sorry. I didn't mean to yell." I looked down out of habit and twirled my thumbs.

"It's ok. You kind of remind me of someone I know." He said. I looked up to see he was smiling kindly. He said it in a way that I would normally use when I talked about a very dear friend or sibling.

"Alright well, I really don't mean to be rude but I'm super tired and I'd just like to close up and head home." I rushed out quickly and ducked my head again.

"Oh right. Sorry for keeping you waiting. How rude of me." He pulled out his wallet and gave me a bit more than what I asked. He must have forgotten.

I took out the extra cash and pushed it back at him. "Here, you gave me more than what I asked." I opened my hand so he can take the money. He closed my hand over the money and gently pushed it back towards me. "Keep it, it's a tip for your very kind services." He grinned.
