It's been a month. Kyra and I became very close friends and Diane felt like a mother to me. The mother I never had. But now, she had to leave.
'I'm so sorry, kids. The other witches need me. I don't know when I'll be back-- but it can take years, maybe.'
We nodded and embraced us. 'You can live in my house, just make sure my plants won't die. Give them enough water. I also have unlimited food-- but, if you'd like, out here are berries, on the tree. They're really nice. Oh, sorry, sorry, I really have to go now.'
'We'll take care of your home, Diane. Stay safe, please.'

After a couple of minutes, Diane was gone and we had the place for ourselves.
'I guess we have our own place now, huh?' Kyra grinned. I chuckled and nodded.
'Romantic.' she winked. I just smirked and rolled my eyes, while a small blush appeared on my face. I eyed her as she walked over to the kitchen. 'Oh my god, now we're like a cute lesbian couple living in a cottage!'
I grinned.
'But, you're not a lesbian, right? You had a boyfriend?'
'Sh, you're ruining the aesthetic. But no, I'm not a lesbian-- I am pansexual, tho.'
'Really? Huh... I guess I didn't know everything about you, then.'
'Duh, you know nothing. You don't even know my age.'
The more I thought about it, I realized she was right. 'What is your age?'
'Well, I'm actually around the, two hundred fifty, I think? But in your years, about twenty, or twenty-one.' I nodded. After that, it was quiet for a while.
'Princess?'
'Yes?'
'Have you ever thought about your sexuality?'
I frowned, thinking deeply.
'... no. No, I never did.'
Now that I think of it, I think I once had a crush on my best friend-- when I was a young kid. After that, I've never liked someone. Of course, some of them were attractive-- but I never had the slightest crush.
I looked over at Kyra, she was looking right back at me.
At that moment, I realized.
I had a crush on Kyra. No, not a crush, I had feelings for her.
The way she smirked at me, the way she laughed at me for doing something stupid-- and the way my heartbeat rose every time our eyes crossed.
My heart dropped as I began to feel my face heat up.
'Princess, are you okay? You look like you just saw a ghost.' Kyra asked with concern. I nodded, softly.
'Yes, yes... I just... need to drink some water.' I said while standing up to get a glass.
My belly began to ache. I had never felt like this before, and it frightened me.
I felt someone touching my shoulder.
'Don't touch me.' I immediately said and turned around to face Kyra. Her expression was a mix of worry and surprise.
'I'm sorry, I really am.'
I rushed off to our shared bedroom and sat on the bed. I looked outside, it began to get darker. I sighed and laid down, while tears were burning behind my eyes.
I was done with today. Slowly, I felt myself falling asleep.

When I woke up, Kyra wasn't next to me. I frowned and got up from bed, walking over to the living room. Kyra was laying on the couch, sleeping, with a frown on her face. She yawned the moment I closed the door to the bedroom.
'Kyra? Kyra, why are you sleeping on the couch?' I softly asked. She opened her eyes and looked at me, after which she groaned and closed them again.
'You seemed like you wanted to be alone last night. I didn't want to disturb you.'
I felt the corners of my mouth curl up. 'That's really sweet, Kyra, but you really shouldn't be having a bad night of sleep just because I was upset.'
She smirked at me. 'It's okay. Are you feeling better? What was up with you yesterday?'
I sighed and shook my head. 'It was nothing, don't worry. And yes, I guess I feel better now.'
'Great to hear. Hey, do you want some orange juice?'
I smiled.
'Yes, I would love that.'

Kyra and I were standing in the kitchen, making breakfast.
'Hey, I have an idea. What if we held a movie night?'
I looked from our little TV to Kyra and smiled.
'You better not put on a horror movie.'
'Hmm, we'll see.'
I giggled and shook my head slowly.

That night we were sitting on the couch with a blanket. There were snacks spread on the table in front of us as it was dark outside.
'What movie did you choose?'
'You'll see.'
The moment she pressed "play", I knew she chose a horror movie. I sighed at her. 'Really? Horror movies are scary.'
'Don't be such a baby, you'll love it.'
I rolled my eyes, but I felt my face heat up.

'What the-- no, don't go-' I screamed before I even got to finish my sentence. I threw myself at Kyra, scared for the monster in the movie. She chuckled and put her arm around me. 'Aww, are you scared?' Kyra teased as she looked me in my eyes. I looked away and huffed. 'Shut up.'
I enjoyed being in this position-- me, laying on Kyra's chest, while she had an arm around me. Together, we continued watching the movie. I made some snarky comments but kept quiet for most of the time.
After a while, I was too tired to concentrate on the movie-- my eyes kept closing on their own, while my mind drifted off. I almost fell asleep when I felt a small kiss at the crown of my head.
It wasn't anything big, but this little act of love made my face heat up and gave me a bellyache.
'I know you're awake, I can see you smiling.'
'Shut up, you're ruining the moment.'
'Aww, but the movie hasn't ended yet!'
'Sh.'
The last thing I heard before I fell asleep was a soft chuckle from Kyra. I smiled again and slowly drifted away.
