The next morning I woke up to the smell of my father cooking eggs.

"Yums." I said, yawning. I sat up, and my father turned to look at me.

"So what did you see in the story?" Considering I had just woken up, I think I have the privilege of being confused.

"What story?" I ask. It dawns on me that he is talking about the flashback through time. "Oh, you mean rock flashback or story or whatever. Well, big deer, snake, dragon, wolf, cougar, and mustang. Saw the first orange eye, and he started the city of Sernoia for good purposes, then heirs basically twisted that into a violent thing, also it seems like those metal bug things were a huge thing before the explosion. Hm... I think that was all." I said. He looked at me confused.

"Snake?" I nodded.

"Larger than an anaconda, too."

He looked puzzled for a few seconds, before he waved it off and asked me, "So, are you ready to try and find your biological father?" I look at him in surprise. I didn't think he would mention it right now.

"Yes, I guess. I mean, adventuring past the village boundary, being faced with dangerous situations, and all-in-all quality time with friends? Who wouldn't be ecstatic about it? I can already feel the adrenaline as we run from a predator!" I say, my voice rising as I started to stress about the whole 'leaving-and-possibly-getting-killed' thing.

My dad looked at me in concern. "Uh, yeah, I'll take that as a not really. Eggs?" I nod, and he plates the eggs and passes them to me. I devour them and then go to hide under the covers.

"I'll just be hiding. If you need me, I'm not here." My muffled voice said to my father.

He chuckled at that and said, "What about your friends?" My head shoots up, still under the blanket. I turn my head wildly around, forgetting I'm blind because of a blanket.

"Where are they? Are they here? Are we going? Crap, I'm not ready in the slightest." I get up to go pack some clothes or food or whatever, my mind still not completely set on what I'm about to do. I start to run to the kitchen, but bang my head into a wall. "Ow." The blanket falls off my head as I'm sitting, cross-legged on the floor, holding my forehead, where I hit the wall. I hear my father laughing himself to death and glare at him.

"No, they aren't here. But what the hell was that?!" I pick up my blanket and go back to the bed, wrapped like a burrito in my blanket, before I realize I'm in the house instead of the cave.

"Wait, did our house survive the fire?" My dad nodded.

"Probably because we are a bit on the outskirts, far enough away that they sent one person out. Speaking of, he's still tied up." He said while sipping a bit of his tea and looking out the window, kicking something under the table.

I hear a snort and then a "What? Oh. Oh! Crap!" And then some tussling as the guy tries to break out of the bonds.

"Did... did you just kick the man?" He smirked at me evilly.

"Not a violent bone in my body, huh?" I shrug.

"Yeah, no, this proves nothing." My father's face falls. Then he looks at his tea, then back at me, and smirks.

"What?" I ask. He takes out some of the tea leaves, and gets up and walks a tad closer to me.

"This." He splashes the tea on me. He drinks his tea warm, but not too hot, so it doesn't burn-burn, but you definitely feel it.

"Hey!" I say simultaneously with the Sernoia person.

"I'm still down here." I look at my father.
