the day of the match part 2

Hinatas pov

I ran as fast as i could an i managed to
Get to the court with kageyama following behind me with murder in his eyes, scary..

I started to do warm ups like jumping, and trying to practice my receives a little, but even when doing that i cant help but feel like im being stared at, but when i look around everyone is paying attention to their own warm up.

When daichi called us he named the 2 group that were gonna be in the 3 v 3 match, it was me, kageyama, and tanaka-san! The second team was tsukistingma , and yamaguchi, i was a little confused on who was going to be the third team member when daichi-san said he would be in their team, i spoke
"CAPTAIN?! YOURE GONNA PLAY?!"
daichi-san reasurred me that tanaka is better on offense but he did also say that he wont go easy on me.. terrible..

Third pov.

It was silent for a few seconds until tsukishima spoke and said
"hey captain, who should we crush? I mean, who should we contain first? Tanaka or short stuff? Oh and im looking forward to watching the king lose today."
Tsukishima smirked as he just finished off his remarks until yamaguchi rushed to tsukishima and tried to whisper at him
"Tsukki! Shh! They can hear you, and what if shoyo-san hates you for it?"
Tsukishima replied
"as much as i hate saying mean stuff to my little cutie here, im trying to make them lose their cool on me so that we can have a much easier game"
Yamaguchi nodded but still with a worried look on his face wondering if his crush will be angry at him at taking tsukishimas side.
Tanaka faced his team members and started to fake laugh like a girl and said
"Oh my god! Did you hear that? All those things he said! My goodness that tsukishima brat, i guess we hafta.. GIVE HIM THE THRASHING OF HIS LIFE"
as he yelled, hinata Stuck out his tongue as to taunt his rivals, but all that did was make everyone simultaneously think of how cute he is being.

The match started a few minutes ago, tanaka spiked through tsukishimas block celebrating by taking his shirt off,
Kageyama is coming to hinata and said "why dont you celebrate by taking off your shirt too?" Kageyama blushed,
"Hm? What was that kageyama?" Hinata responded
(ill be really surprised if you know that reference, if not, READ MORE KAGEHINA DOUNJINSHIS)
"AUGH! n-n-nevermind! It was nothing important!" Kageyama said as he blushed more red than a cherry.
The match soon began again, and both kageyama and hinata wanted to show off their quick to their team mates, but he was blocked by none other than tsukishima.
"Yesterday i was amazed by the way you jump! Maybe if you were a little more taller that spike could've gone through" tsuki said later then mumbling
"but of course that would make you less cuter than what you already are"
"UGH! GIVE IT TO ME AGAIN KAGEYAMA!" Hinata shouted
The spike was blocked again
"How many times now? Tanaka is the only one getting points for your team, might as well make kageyama do his Royal set, oh wait, if you do your hitter wont even manage to hit it, right?"
Tsukishima retorted
"Tch, shut up, i dont need to use any of my fast attacks, i got other ways to beat you."
Kageyama said as he went to pick up the ball and prepared to serve in the next round.
When he served the duo was surprised that daichi managed to receive his serve and pass it on to tsuki and make yamaguchi spike, "we arent to break down easily as you think" daichi said while trying to hold his breath a little,
"Come on you majesty! Dont you think its time for the king to get serious?" Tsuki sneered at kageyama
"Oi saltyshima! Why do you keep picking on him? And whats up with this king and royal set stuff?!" Hinata yelled
"Oh? The little shorty doesnt know why hes called 'the king'? Well since your my little shorty id gladly give you the information needed!" Tsukishima smiled at hinata
"Wait isn't the reason why hes called the king  is because hes really good or because hes really good at intimidating?" Hinata pondered outloud
"Haha sweetheart, you know, theres alot of people who think that! But that isnt the case dear, you see, the reason why hes called 'king of the court' is because of his team mates, calling him a tyrannical dictator who always had to have his way, and i got to see it first hand, during that finals match,
your tyranny went too far and you got benched kageyama." He smirked as kageyama stood there reminiscing of his middle school matches. "Thanks to that game, your terrified to even attempt a quick set arent you?" Said tsuki,
"yeah, i am. The idea that no one would be there when i put the ball up, scares me to the bottom of my soul"
kageyama answered to tsukishima.

"But wait, if theres someone there to set the ball for me... ill go after it every time-- so that doesn't matter anymore!"
Hinata said cheerfuly

With the answer like that kageyamas crush for the little ginger grew, he was slowly getting over that fear of no one being there for when he sets a ball, and glad that it got to be hinata in that spot.

"Right now the bigger problem is to get past saltyshima!" Hinata said as he pointed the blond middle blocker

Then tanaka and daichi giggled at hinatas remark towards tsukishima
While the little ginger continued on encouraging kageyama to get his head get into the game, "you know, that kind of pure earnest and straight forward attitude makes you more cute" the blond mumbled but still caught the gingers attention a bit. 

The match soon started yet again after that little break with tanaka receiving a free ball, as the ball was heading toward kageyama both tanaka and hinata started to shout for the ball but kageyama chose tanaka quickly, then hinata shouted for kageyama while he was halfway up the air "IM HERE BAKAYAMA!" The shorty shouted and soon kageyama quickly turned and tossed to ball for him and managed to get a point off,
"No matter what ball it is, ill still get it no matter what!" Hinata shouted towards kageyama
"You better short ca- I MEAN SHORT SHRIMP!! BOKE!" Kageyama blushed but hinata was a little confused at that ordeal,
"B-but anyways, hinata, if we cant go through we can go around, i want you to use every ounce of your speed and reflexes to run up and hit my set. Got it? " Kageyama explained
"Got it, captain yama!" Shoyo smiled at his remark.

Kageyama tossed to hinata trying to make quick sets but hinata kept messing up and missed all the balls
"Oi kageyama, at this rate... your just repeating middle school all over again." Sugawara said as he stood up to get one of the fallen balls.
"But hinata is exceptionally mobile. Hes really fast, has good reflexes, he can jump, and hes really pre-.. PRACTICE ON HIS SHITTY RECEIVES!!" Kageyama told to sugawara who knew what he was going to say but let it off, "but dont you think the way your setting now... is hindering hinatas best weapon-- his speed? Hinata is a complete newbie, he has no experience nor skill, but talent-wise, he has potential! With your skill, dont you think you could, uh... i dunno, um... take hinatas unique skill set, and match.. his-his 'hinata-ness'?" Sugawara stuttered
'Find a way to take hinatas skill and match it to my sets?' Kageyama thought wondering how to do it...

'Got it'.

"IM JEALOUS OF YOUR ATHLETICISM, WATCHING YOU WASTE IT ALL THE TIME TICKS ME OFF!! IF YOU WONT USE IT... THEN I WILL! ILL MAKE USE OF EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT!" Kageyama shouted towards the little shrimp who was confused at what was happening
"Run as fast as you can... jump as high as you can...
And fly
Dont worry about the ball, ill bring it to you."
Kageyama finished and said calmly
"Heh, alright, you got it kageyama" hinata smiled at the words that were being said to him

The game started with daichi serving, kageyama is focusing hard on setting for hinata, soon hinata jumped and kageyama tossed at perfect timing, managing to make hinatas spike go through with his eyes closed,
'Hes matching up towards me, this is becoming more fun!' Kageyama happily smirked

Yamaguchi started the next match serving with tanaka receiving 'all we need to do is mark tanaka-san and we'll be fine--' tsukishima thought until he realized that hinata was running towards him making it look like he was gonna jump there so tsuki called out yamaguchi to make it a double block, but then hinata remembered that if he cant go through, he will just have to go around,

he went to the other side of the court and jumped waiting for kageyamas pin point toss and when hinata hit it,

he opened his eyes and finally saw the other side of the court

Everyone took a second

Kageyama and hinata heavily breathed in and out

Another second passed and they both simultaneously yelled.

They did it!

Finishing the first set of the game.
