Chapter 5

Chloe's POV

Here I am in the shower thinking to myself, today's the rodeo, today I trick ride in front of everyone. To be honest I was quit nerve, I know I have done it many times but every time it's like doing it for the first time ever. My plan was to head to the grounds right after breakfast, I am only performing at 12:00 but I still wanted to see a few other events and warm Star up. The only thing I wasn't exited for was seeing the girls I'd be competing against next week, those girls eat, breath and sleep riding and winning it's madness. I got out the shower and quickly put on normal riding clothes and packing my outfit in a bag. As I got to the breakfast table everyone was slowly making their way to the Kettle nobody dressed yet.

Morning - I called to no one specific.

Morning sis, you ready for today? - Jake asked

You know it! - I replied

Do you need a lift?

Nope Kelly and her brother are fetching me! - I informed him

When did they get back? - he asked

Yesterday..... I missed Kelly so much, they competing in the team roping. - I replied

Kelly's my best friend from like first grade we do everything together, but she went to visits her Dad this holiday.

Cool! - he replied

What time are you guys coming ?

I think about 10! But Ted and I are driving together and mom and dad - he answered

Just then I heard a hooter outside and began to run to the door

Bye - I called

Good luck!!!- he called back

Where's she going in such a hurry - I heard Ted ask as I left the house.

Once I saw Kelly I started sprinting towards her.

Heyyyyyyyy !!! - I called out

I missed you so much!!! - Kelly shouted

Same here I said while giving her a bear hug. I also caught Ted starring out the window. But just chuckled in my head.

So how was the visit - I asked while getting Into the back seat.

Good thanks, but now tell me who's the hottie that was starring at you through the window - Kelly asked

Aggg...... He's one of my dad's friends sons from the city, he's living with us for awhile.

Ow she said but before she could say anything else her brother Zack interrupted.

Don't I even get a hello? - Zack asked sarcastically

Of cause you do! - I said with a huge grin

Zack is 2 years older than Kelly and I, but he's always got my back. The rest of the ride we just spoke about the important news, as I would be seeing them through out the day.

Good luck girl see you later - Kelly called as I dashed off to Stars stable

Check you later alligator! - Zack shouted

Thanks Kel down the Nile crocodile - I called back to both of them.

I spent the rest of the morning attending to Star and watching a few events. It was only 11 now so I still had and hour before my performance. Kelly, Zack and I were chilling in the stables.

So what's the story with this Ted guy- Kelly asked, looking very intrigued. As she said this I quickly noticed Zacks body tense up.

He's a city boy, what more do I need to say? - I chirped, just as the words left my mouth Zacks body immediately relaxed a little.

Really clo.....Whats so bad about city boys?- Kelly demanded

Their ego!- I replied

Agreed - Zack said just after I finished my sentence.

You to... I swear - Kelly began but before she could finish her sentence I glanced at my watch.

Sorry...... I got to go change - I practically shouted

We all jumped up immediately.

What can we do? - Kelly and Zack asked

Kels come with me and Zack please get star saddled- I said while grabbing my bag and rushing to the bathrooms with Kelly hot on my heels.

I quickly unchanged and put on my trick riding outfit, it was basically a shocking pink jump suit but it didn't look that bad. On I was done I rushed out forgetting to do my hair but there was definitely no time for that so I just left it loose. Zack had already tacked up star in the saddle and bridle that matched my outfit.

Let's go - Zack said quickly as I took stars reins.

You look great by the way - he added.

Aww thanks Zack - I relied looking for Kelly and my family in the stands. Once I spotted them I quickly waved before Zack stopped me in my tracks.

You ready? - he asked

Yip - I replied as he took me into a sweet huge

Ok, good luck - he said while kissing my forehead

Thanks- I replied while mounting star and riding into the arena.

Teds POV

We're at the show grounds sitting in the stands, waiting for Chloe I kept trying to spot her in the crowd it took forever but eventually I did and for some reason my blood began to boil as I saw her walking towards the arena with that guy from this morning, but that's not the worst, I saw how he looked at her, then stopped her and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

Who the hell is he - I shouted immediately

Chill dude and please keep the voice down - jake said looking very amused

I will once you tell me who he is - I demanded

He's Chloe's best friends brother, there pretty close although not nearly as close as Chloe and Kelly, his name is Zack... - he replied while I tensed up with anger even more after every word he said.

Whatever!!!! - was all I could come up with as I turned my attention back to the arena.
