"Come with me." Reggie pleaded as he followed y/n back to her bedroom. "Reggie it's a school night. And you know how much I love and support your dedication to your little boy band." She turned around with a slight smirk. "but my grades are dropping and mom and dad said if I don't get them up by the end of the semester they'll ship me off to some boarding school in like Argentina or something."
Reggie rolled his eyes knowing his parent could never ship their only daughter off somewhere. She was their only chance at being able to boost about how one of their children is off being a lawyer, or a doctor while their other is off living some dream that'll never happen.
"Promise me this if you finish early you'll stop by to watch even if it's only the last 5 minutes?" The girl sighed knowing he wouldn't let this go unless she said yes. "Fine if I somehow magically finish early I'll stop by."
A smile set on his face and he wrapped his arms around his younger sisters shoulder placing a kiss on her head. "Thank you thank you thank you." She shook him off was a small laugh. "You're welcome now go before I change my mind."
Hours later y/n had finally finished her studies. Just as she was about to get into her bed to call it a night she remembered the promise she told her slightly older brother. She hurrily put on the white sunset curve shirt he left on her bed as well as a light blue denim jacket before racing down the stairs.
"Mom! Dad? I'm going to the Orpheum to see Regg! I finished all my studies I'll be back before curfew!" y/n picked up her house keys from inside the bowl by the door before picking up her off white nike air force 1s and slipping on one shoe before making her way to the door to open it other one still in hand.
Just as she opened the door a police officer on the other side was about to knock on it. He gave her a sympathetic look before speaking. "Are you Mrs.y/l/n?" She shook her head confused. "Um not that's my mom-"
She went to call for her parents only to find them coming out of the living room confused. As the officer in blue told her about the passing of her older brother y/ns vision be came clouded as she dropped to the floor shaking her head furiously. "No, no, no. I promised him. I didn't-" y/ns mother carefully sat on the floor next to her daughter wrapping one arm around her waist and the other around her neck to pull her into her warm body.
Her mother rocked the crying girl in her hands trying not to cry herself. Only trying to seek any type of comfort she could give to the teenager in her arms. "I promised him. I told him I would. I-"
y/m/n shook her head a tear escaping her eye as she kissed y/ns head. "It's not your fault don't blame yourself my love." y/n shook her head the tears coming down more rushed now. "i didn't even get to tell him I loved him.."
