𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐒
i. the past: house sorting

[omniscient narrator]

When Harry and Venus Potter were just some one year old kids, they survived along all their family to the attack in Godric's Hollow that made Voldemort disappear, all that thanks to Harry. After that, things happened like they should have happened in that moment, like the fact that Acacia Lestrange had been locked in Azkaban alongside other wizards and witches that helped the Dark Lord who unleashed terror in the magical world, and who almost murdered the Potters on the night of October 31, 1981. Let's not forget about Sirius Black, who was unfairly locked -without his friends knowing- for the "murder" of Peter Pettigrew and some muggles. But, James refused to believe that something like that happened.

On the other side, the secret was kept away from the society, just how Lily Potter wished. The few people who knew about it where their closest friends, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, and the wisest, Albus Dumbledore - it was impossible to lie to him - And of course, Acacia's friends, Regulus Black and Severus Snape who also knew about what happened that night. But nobody said anything, because even thought they were lies, they were considered pious. Venus wasn't missing anything, or that's what it looked like.

When they turned eleven, their letters arrived the same day - they grew up thinking that they were twins - making their happiness even more bigger. But not so much for Harry, who wasn't very devoted to give love to his sister, that was the reason why he wasn't exited about her receiving the letter to attend Hogwarts, he wished that her sister was born being a Squib. He didn't knew why, but he felt like there was something wrong with her. She had the surname Potter, but he thought that she didn't deserved to be a Potter, at least that's what Harry thinks.

Both kids were nervous. because they knew that the house their parents wanted them to be was Gryffindor. Lily was scared of  Venus going into Slytherin, after all, her mother belonged there. And it was obvious that people will be talking about it a lot because, how can a Potter get into Slytherin, since both her parents were in Gryffindor? She talked to her husband about her doubts. But James wasn't as worried as Lily; he was the one who raised
his kids, he raised her, not Acacia. He made sure to do things right with her, so that way his daughter won't get into the house of the serpents, she was a Potter.

- Do you think there are empty wagons Harry?- the little girl asked, trying to take her brother's hand, but he took his hand away.

-I don't know Venus - he said annoyed - You go your way and i'll go my way.

-But Lily said that we need to stick together, Harry- she said, feeling scared that Harry will get mad.

Harry rolled  his eyes because of his mother's mention. He hated that Venus called his mother that way, he thought that it was annoying and rude. But the girl with the green eyes didn't think that way, she just felt like calling her mom like that, she didn't do it for being rude or mean.

-It's mom, Venus, mom. Not "Lily"- he said, fixing his glasses - And she is not here, so you can go now.

After his brother left her alone, she started looking for a seat. She remained like that for half an hour, until she ran into Aidan Cygnus Black and Quentin Lupin, both really close friends of the girl. They were both kids of some very good friends of the Potter family- even thought Regulus wasn't that close, he still loved the girl, so he didn't mind hanging out with the Gryffindors that were his brother's friends- They were both going to their first year, like Harry and her.

-My brother told me that my father talked to him before coming last year, and he said that if he didn't get into Gryffindor like him, he was going to disinherit him- Quentin said, causing Cygnus to laugh.

-He is only messing with you- said the guy with curly hair while they were walking around the Great Hall at Hogwarts- Clearly your father didn't said those things.

You see, since Regulus was a Slytherin, he didn't get along with Venus's father friends. He said that he only appreciates her because he had a friend that looked like her. Venus thought it was weird, since her parents don't really get along with him. But Cygnus only speaks to her and Lupins younger son, since he hated Romeo and Merope -daughter of Sirius Black- He hated Romeo, for being so dumb and Merope because of the fact that he was the daughter of the disgrace of the family and his cousin.

-My parents will kill me if i don't get into Gryffindor- the girl said.

The house sorting went by pretty fast for some people and slow for other people like Quentin and Venus. The nerves of Quentin almost make him get fainted when the sorting hat said Slytherin. Cygnus smiled with a hint of evil in his smile, he new since the beginning that he would go there, so he was happy that his friend was going to Slytherin, so he said in a mockery tone: i think someone is about to be left out of the inheritance.

It was Harry's turn, so Venus wished him good luck, making her brother roll his eyes and then walking towards the sorting hat. He sat down looking confident and seconds after, he stands up with a huge smile on his face after being sorted into Gryffindor.

-Venus Potter! - she jumped in her place when she heard her name. She was next.

She felt like throwing up all the candies that Cygnus gave her, so, while touching her stomach, she started walking towards the sorting hat ( she heard someone ask if there actually was another potter ) . Professor McGonagall placed the hat into her head, and she waited, not so patiently.

Gryffindor? of course not. Putting
you there would just be like lying to you and of course myself. You are surrounded by many lies and i'm not adding another one to
the list, kid. So if you want me to say what you are hoping,
i'm sorry. SLYTHERIN!

The green and silver table was very happy,  and Cygnus and Quentin were more than happy -Quentin was a little bit more relaxed- But, everyone else wasn't that happy and excited. A Potter in Slytherin? What the hell! Ronald Weasley, was looking at Harry ashamed, but Harry was very busy judging his sister. She was the disgrace of his family.

When James Potter found out with five letters form Harry and one from Dumbledore that his daughter got into Sytherin, he almost falls from his chair. It must be a prank, a very bad one from the destiny. After that, he received a very proud Regulus Black, he was happy that the girl got into the same house as Acacia. But, James wasn't in the mood for jokes, he was very busy asking himself: what did i do wrong with Venus?
